Bluenose was one of the few restaurants open for breakfast on a Saturday in the waterfront area. Our hotel clerk and a person on the street recommended it. Food was pretty average. Seat back between our table and the next was loose and wobbled every time the other person moved -- annoying.

My partner and I had breakfast here on last Sunday. Valerie's oatmeal was substantial and in her opinion very tasty. Yours truly had eggs benny with spinach and a salad. Price a tad high for a combo meal. My coffee was awful, to tell the truth and asked server to take it back. Experience here that day won't prevent a... More

We had a lovely meal of Lobster. We felt the price was excellent and we enjoyed it. The restaurant was full and it also is for families with children. The dessert of rice pudding is excellent. Good old fashioned pudding. Loved it. Would make a point of going there on our next visit to Halifax.

It looks like an average dinner. But what you will find inside are good prices, fresh, well prepared local food and great service. The chowder was the best I had in the city. The lobster roll was excellent and the other dishes are great too. For the 8 days I was in town for business I ate here 5 times.... More

Had breakfast one morning to take a break from the hotel buffet. Excellent choice. Food was just as good, service even better. And you can't beat the prices. We would definitely return.

Our excitement at having a new restaurant open in this area of the city rapidly turned to disappointment! We ordered fish cakes, which, when they were served , were cold and tough. After reheating, they were downright lathery, perhaps as a result of too much time in the microwave. The dressing on the limp salad was delicious, probably the only... More

Went for lunch, I had the French onion soup. The first bowl I sent back as it was barely warm let alone hot. Once a second bowl was presented it was piping hot and was delicious. My Daughter had chicken breast which she thought was not overly hot as well but decided not to send it back. Overall it was... More

I love going into a restaurant and having the confidence that they can accommodate my Celiac (gluten free). I ate at both the downtown (Hollis Street) and the new Uptown Bluenose (7071 Bayers Road) locations. The Bayers Road location actually has a completely separate fryer for gluten free folks like me. I was able to have potato skins and french... More

When we landed on this little dinner, we were looking for some great food fast and we were not dissapointed. They offered a great clam chowder and my wife had the poutine. We were a larger group (8 people) and the service was still fast and friendly.
