Rarely do I find a restaurant that offers such great food and service. Everytime I visit family in Halifax I book a big night out starting here. The menu changes but one thing that I love is the house made biscuits that come in a little brown paper bag upon your arrival. Addictive! You won't be disappointed with this gem... More

I visited Chives a second time and the goat cheese souffle blew me away--It is always hard to cook souffle appropriately to just fluffy, and it smelled good. A little disappointed that they cancelled the duck, which is my favourite, but the steak was perfectly medium rare. The poached pear and pudding was juicy and scrumptious . Well done Chives,... More

First time in Chives was Mar 16,2014. Arranged a nice romantic meal for myself & my wife & we were not disapointed ! Service was great, meals just as good, & would highly recommend to anyone who wants an above average dining experience.Although this was my first time here, I will definitely be back.

I heard that Chives was a great restaurant but oh my goodness, I had no idea just how good it was. For taste and quality of food it was the best I've ever had! Two of us were dining. For appetizers we had borscht (creamy rich and delicious) and roasted squash gnocchi (amazing combination of flavours and tiny, light homemade... More

Probably my favorite restaurant destination. You can tell throughout the whole dining experience that close attention is paid to food prep and the service you are provided. Exceptional on both fronts each time you visit.

This is one of the two best restaurants in Halifax. The food features locally produce, sustainably caught fish, local meats. Reliably excellent quality, service is easy, friendly, and knowledgeable. Don't miss Chives if you're visiting Halifax!

Visited Chives for the first time this week. The food and service was great. I had the Lamb shank which was excellent, and my wife had the Tuna, which she felt was a bit under seasoned and slightly overdone. We shared the bread pudding for dessert which was excellent, and bought one of Chef Flinn's cookbooks.

My experience at this restaurant was amazing. The hostess was polite and efficient. The waiter was knowledgable and personable. The food was prepared perfectly and every bite was delicious. There wasn't one thing I would of changed about my experience at this restaurant.

Great restaurant in downtown location which only serves evening meals, Very attentive service with well prepared and presented menu items from which it is difficult to make a selection as everything is so enjoyable. They have a well chosen wine list at reasonable prices. We have dinned at Chives on a number of different occasions and each experience has been... More
