Well prepared food with the exception of the beef wellington which was overdone and the pastry was a little hard. I hear the wellington is generally good so as a personal fav I would try it again. The biscuits are great but it's a bit cheap to charge extra for them. The scallops are excellent. Overall would go again.

Chives is completely delicious. Great, upscale food without a pretentious atmosphere. The restaurant feels fairly casual. If you want a little more privacy ask to eat in the small upstairs section to the right of the coat rack. Highly recommend.

I can't believe I neglected to say how unbelievably fantastic our meal was. There are obviously plenty of reviews to support this statement. I will not pretend to remember everything that we ordered but, judging by the quality they demonstrated, there is nothing that would be a disappointment. If you go to Halifax do yourself a favor and go here!... More

This was a great meal. After taking our orders, they brought us fresh biscuits with molasses. I don't know if I've seen molasses offered in a nice restaurant before, but this was possibly the best tasting molasses I've ever had. For a starter, we shared a Mushroom, Summer Leek, & Cheddar Tartlet - this was exceptional, highly recommended. Our main... More

My wife and I went here for a New Year's Eve meal. What a lovely place. All of the staff we dealt with were very professional. The food was well presented, well timed, and all at the right temperatures. The Caramelized Onion and Aged Canadian Cheddar Biscuits are so good, and Cape Breton snow crab & mascarpone risotto we shall... More

The evolving seasonal menu offers a variety of delicious dishes. The presentation and service has never disappointed us. Using many local ingredients is nice to see as well. The Kale salad and the salad special were both delicious. The mains were all awesome especially the NS Lamb. The special that evening was trout and it was excellent as well. The... More
