Delicious Food!

Amazing service and atmosphere. My first time visiting this restaurant and I was definitely not disappointed. Had an appetizer, main and dessert and would definitely recommend this restaurant to others in Halifax.

We had the duck confit appetizer, which was good. The duck was fattier than I have experienced in the past. I ate halibut & lobster with veggies & sauce and my spouse ate the steak. My food had been sitting as the skin on the sauce evidenced. The fish was a bit overdone whereas the veggies were just a bit... More

Stopped in early on our first evening in Halifax, hoping to snag a table. The host was able to accommodate and thus began the adventure. As the menu changes constantly I won't go into detail about the various offerings--except to say prepare to be dazzled. A salad made up of some of the most delicious greens with a champagne-based dressing... More

Chives has and will always be one of the best restaurants in Halifax. The service is friendly and impeccable, the atmosphere inviting and the food stellar. While some note the small menu as a negative, it allows them to showcase the best in Nova Scotia, allows each dish to shine. From the duck confit ravioli with the most succulent smoked... More

Service excellent. Food very good. Comfortable surroundings. A bit pricey but a lovely experience and I would go back again.

It's intimate and special. The wonder of the place was then enhanced by being blessed with Maggie (I hope... More

If you want to sample some of the seasonal foods that are local and native to Nova Scotia Chives is the place to do that. The food is prepared to perfection and you will not be disappointed. Your meal will be fresh and full of flavour. I warn you that the scallops are very rich and you will want more... More

Dined last Friday evening, March 6th. before Tom Cochrane. Loved the food! Had both specials - app and main.( Had the blackened cod for the main with fingerling potatoes and chirozo sausage. Didn't really care for the pairing of the potatoes/sausage with the cod, but was tasty just the same.) Both beautifully prepared and full of flavor! Would definitely recommend... More
