So last summer I tried this place and it was good but not great. This week I was there and I really don't like write stories about businesses but this place seems over rated! Like service is horrible and the food is just ok, for the price I paid I can go to any bistro in halifax and get better... More

Essentially for me, it was very simple. A waitress that could not stay on top of her job, from the length of time it took to order, to not checking in on us, to not notifying us of lengthy (45 minutes between 2nd and 3rd course) delays out of the kitchen. Then, unfortunately, the pasta sauce and pork meatballs were... More

We arrived here about 7:45 after a full day's drive to get to Halifax. We were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour, and we were willing to wait, as the reviews seemed to be so good. An hour and a half later, we were finally seated, even though they had double tables for four that could have... More

The Bicycle Thief is perhaps the best Halifax has to offer. The stunning views from their outdoor seating area to the fantastic food offerings make this a must visit when on the waterfront. I have been to this location many times and always receive attentive service and each visit seems to be better than the previous. I love their menu... More

I have eaten here a few times now, whenever I'm passing through Halifax. On the last visit I tried the panzanella salad, the chicken milanese, and me and my date split the puff pastry. I always end up ending so very much here because everything is amazing! Cool place too, right on the water, atmosphere is lovely and the staff... More

We went on a Monday night so did not experience the noise issues mentioned by others. We started with the mussels appetizer and we both thought it was the best we'd had in a while. I am in love with whoever made the seafood risotto I ate for an entree...omg. Just. So. Incredibly. Delicious. I told my husband I'd divorce... More

My husband and I finally got a chance to eat at the Bicycle Thief, and it exceeded expectations. It was quite busy, and we did not make a reservation as when we called earlier in the day, they had none available but told us to come anyway. We had a seat and a drink at the bar while we waited... Really liked the food, it was delicious but it took too long for the waiter to take me and my friends orders and for the food to arrive. Also there were a lot of drunk people in the restaurant that were doing un-acceptable things at a fine dine restaurant like this. One of the drunk guys was hitting on the... More

If you want to eat here, please make sure you make a reservation. This place is very busy! Everything we ate here was delicious! We shared the salumi board. It came with five different types of salami, breadsticks, marinated olives, celery and red pepper. I had the crusted beef tenderloin. It was so tender and delicious. My husband had the... More

The menu seems to be somewhat typical in choices, but with different twists of flavours and additions to each dish. The ambience and location is the best in Halifax. Definitely worth a visit.
