I have eaten here a few times now, whenever I'm passing through Halifax. On the last visit I tried the panzanella salad, the chicken milanese, and me and my date split the puff pastry. I always end up ending so very much here because everything is amazing! Cool place too, right on the water, atmosphere is lovely and the staff... More

We went on a Monday night so did not experience the noise issues mentioned by others. We started with the mussels appetizer and we both thought it was the best we'd had in a while. I am in love with whoever made the seafood risotto I ate for an entree...omg. Just. So. Incredibly. Delicious. I told my husband I'd divorce... More

My husband and I finally got a chance to eat at the Bicycle Thief, and it exceeded expectations. It was quite busy, and we did not make a reservation as when we called earlier in the day, they had none available but told us to come anyway. We had a seat and a drink at the bar while we waited... Really liked the food, it was delicious but it took too long for the waiter to take me and my friends orders and for the food to arrive. Also there were a lot of drunk people in the restaurant that were doing un-acceptable things at a fine dine restaurant like this. One of the drunk guys was hitting on the... More

If you want to eat here, please make sure you make a reservation. This place is very busy! Everything we ate here was delicious! We shared the salumi board. It came with five different types of salami, breadsticks, marinated olives, celery and red pepper. I had the crusted beef tenderloin. It was so tender and delicious. My husband had the... More

The menu seems to be somewhat typical in choices, but with different twists of flavours and additions to each dish. The ambience and location is the best in Halifax. Definitely worth a visit.

Very busy place but we managed to get seating inside (although our preference was outside). The Salumi Board was delicious. Their signature hamburger was insanely good. Two of us ordered a special that included pasta and lobster which was fantastic. The one dish none of us liked was the Red Ravioli which were filled with way too much mascarpone cheese... More

We had a very nice lunch at Bicycle Thief on a pretty day in Halifax. For three of us, the bill was $93 (including tip, but no alcohol), and when we left, I would say we were not hungry, but we had not had a ton of food either. We each had one entree (lobster roll, lobster/corn chowder, pasta with... More

An extremely attractive spot on the waterfront with tasty food. Unfortunately our server was apparently brand new, it was a very busy time with the Halifax Jazz Festival going on, and the service was slow. I would go back again at a less crowded time, or just eat in the bar next time.

I visited Bish several years ago and ate wonderful, interesting meals there. Closed now, Bish has been replaced with The Bicycle Thief. It's a very busy and popular restaurant. The food is good, but at least on the night that we were there, the service was positively godawful. Dinner took almost 4 hours....and not because we were after a long,... More
