Excellent food. This place was recommended by our Airbnb host. Normally, we would have needed a reservation but we showed up early (around 5:30pm) and managed to get a table on their patio, just by the water. Stopped in for lunch with my daughter and a friend. Service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. Nice location near the waterfront.

Arrived in Halifax from Montreal, tired and wanting to eat. It was by pure chance we tried this establishment out. Well pleased, the ribs were superb as was my wife's pasta dish. Sat outside people watching and chilling. Great food. Give it a go.

Although the food was good, the service was less than stellar. The waitress had difficulty with the orders, some had to be redone. The tables were so close together it was hard for the wait staff to refill water and take away plates. We were trying to talk to our guests but it was not easy to be heard over... More

Went here with some work colleagues for a post contract award celebration. Great selection at reasonable prices for the quality of food.

First rule of pub food: it all tastes better when you are drunk. Bicycle Thief is no different. The atmosphere is high energy, the music is on the loud side, and staff is there quickly to ply you with alcohol. I have been there 3 times in my 5 years in Halifax (all because friends wanted to go, so I... More

The Bicycle Thief is situated in a pleasant waterfront situation and has seating both inside and out. The outside seating is first come first served but inside you need to book. The food is outstanding and the service quick and pleasant. We strongly recommend it but the challenge is getting in! Book well ahead if you can.

First off, don't be surprised if you have to wait to get in - you can avoid this by booking a reservation. Secondly, order the calamari...lightly dusted and flash fried and not the usual greasy stuff that is overpowered by breading. It is simply amazing. I had the spaghettini with clams and bacon on the recommendation of our server (Jenelle)... More

Stopped into the Bicycle Thief for lunch on a blustery August day. Though it offers plentiful and attractive outdoor seating a stone's throw from the harbor, we ate inside. Decor is elegant, and from the mix of diners--older couples, 30-something women out for a girls' lunch, and business types, we knew we had chosen well. We wanted to order about... More

The steak and mussels were great ! The atmosphere was fun and loud. Very busy place. The view on the waterfront was great.
