Great atmosphere and prices

Le Bistro is a reincarnation of a restaurant in that spot years ago - revived by staff, as I understand it. Great atmosphere and excellent prices on an appealing menu. Our meals were just okay, not great, but okay for the price. Any higher and we would have complained about the food. Odd, but we... read more

I had lunch here recently and visited this place for the first time in 20 years. Back in the '90s I lived and worked nearby and was a semi-regular here. It was a dependable, semi-adventurous place that at the time seemed unique for Halifax. For 20 years of time having passed, I was surprised to walk in and see that... More

Hi Mr Hunter, We have worked hard to recreate Le Bistro but i really wish i had known you didn't enjoy your food as i would have gladly done something about it, We keep our prices low and in line to take care of our guests however it is never to compromise the quality of the meals we serve. 26 of us met for a retirement dinner. Although we were part of the main restaurant, we felt as if we had our own section in the corner of the restaurant. Personal touches included welcoming on the chalkboard and the personalized menu for our group which accommodated the vegetarian and gluten free among us. For a large group the service... More

In Halifax on vacation just had brunch with some girlfriends at Le bistro. We all got something different and couldn't stop raving about each dish. Mike bray was our server and he was so sweet and informative. He made great recommendations and no one's drink was ever empty, including the water! Thanks Mike for a memorable reunion

Our trip has drawn to an end and I must write a review of Le Bistro by Liz. In the passed 4 weeks we have eaten here at least 4 times (once a week). The atmosphere is lovely, the service is excellent, the price is right, the food is consistently excellent!! Well done!! We were staying at a nearby hotel... More

20 - 30 years ago, Bistro was a favorite after driving into Halifax from Wolfville. I am pleased to see it still flourishing. It was extremely busy on Tuesday for lunch and the timeless standards were still on the menu. Making reservations would be wise. In the Trip advisor for French restaurants, it did not appear!

We enjoyed our meal at Le Bistro - food was good, service was good, nice atmosphere. We would probably return to this restaurant in the future.

On Friday, March 6, 2015 my sister, her partner, and I had supper at Le Bistro. This was my first time dining in at this restaurant and I would like to take this opportunity to express my delight with the service, food, and ambience. From the moment we were seated to the very end of our stay we were treated... More

Was at the B for a celebration today at lunch. Revisited old friends - the caesar salad, the caesar drink, and potato skins. All good but I really missed the sour cream/vinegar/green onion dip for the skins that were a feature in years past. Just plain sour cream doesn't cut it! The server was good but not as attentive as... More
