Amazing Hendricks Martini

Popped into The Middle Spoon while waiting for a dinner reservation up the street, downtown Halifax. Planning on having the habitual G+T, but since they don't have traditional tonic, we opted for a Hendricks Martini, straight up, with olive. We weren't expecting much, despite the female bartender's... read more

Visited last night had the pulled pork sliders, a few drinks and the chocolate brownie pie. The pulled pork on the pepper biscuit was better than I've ever had, just delicious. In this hidden gem of Halifax the atmosphere was great, knowledgeable staff and great music. Had a wonderful time.

I have to admit - I went twice last week and I ate desert (which I don't usually do. My girlfriend and myself went last week to the new Bedford location for lunch. We talked for 3 hours and no one even gave us a look to leave. Waiter was very friendly young man. Salads and soup were so good... More

Greeted warmly by friendly staff on both of my visits to this location. Enjoyed the tomato, avocado and cheese panini sandwich and the cauliflower and garlic soup is fantastic! Food is nicely presented. Dessert menu is large and all made on-site. Food menu offers soups, salads and sandwiches. Dessert menu and cocktail menu is more expansive than food menu. Interior... Pleasant decor. Menu is very appealing, however food does not measure up to what's written.Ordered the bacon, cheese, avocado jalapeño cream cheese panini sandwich. No flavour of jalapeño creamcheese at all, 2 small slivers of avocado, bacon was very over done. Unfortunately vey undersized for price point. If you want to make it in Bedford you will have to do better... More

Visited the Bedford location last night. Cant imagine how they will be able to stay open with such a limited menu. Had the pulled pork sliders that were cold and dry. Dont look for a glass of red wine unless you like merlot. Bedford is not barrington st and doesnt have a huge amount of diners looking for desert or... More

Been to both locations and would recommend both. Try the Peanut Butter Pie--it's made with a peanut butter custard-type filling. You won't be disappointed!

Have been eagerly awaiting the opening of The Middle Spoon in Sunnyside Mall, Bedford. Friendly and attentive staff, with atmospheric decor. The menu is appealing and includes snacks and light meals as well as the desserts and cocktails. Warm Sailor Cider was an excellent drinks choice on a cold day, and the Carrot Cake was delicious. My group also sampled... More

Have never visited the Halifax location but was intrigued and wanted to try this new place in Sunnyside Mall, when I saw the sign go up recently. As a long time Bedford resident, I am always pleased to see new dining or drinking establishments open their doors! My sister and I were coming from dinner one night and were in the... More

Apple pecan tart and an Aphrodite's Weakness for me and a chocolate lava cake with a Amaretto Beer Sour for my partner. He's still gushing about the Beer Sour, which we've sadly been told will be removed from the menu. This exceeded our expectations. It was decadent and the drinks matched the desserts perfectly. While expensive, it was a nice... More
