Uneven, steak not worth it

On a brief visit to Halifax, we found that The Cut was connected to our hotel. Since we hadn't had any steak for a while, it seemed like a good idea for a nice dinner, even though we knew it was more expensive than places we usually go. Well, we wouldn't have minded the cost so much if everything... read more

Cut is "cut" from the same cloth as many steakhouses in Toronto. Very good quality meat, everything a la carte and at the tipping point of the price scale. Service was good. Meat was good but different pricey. Sides were good but I wouldn't say I was blown away. Though I have to say, being next to the Courtyard Marriott... More

Cut Steakhouse aspires to "high class" as represented by pricing all items separately (steaks by the ounce, shrimp cocktail $8/shrimp, baked potato $9, bordelaise sauce $5, etc.) The side dishes, although all priced individually, are large enough and possibly intended for sharing so there is ample opportunity to mix and match. The smallest steak available was a 6oz tenderloin; other... More

the steak i had was good, cooked the requested medium rare, tender and tasty. All sides are extra and we had to ask for bread. While i like the place and all i just find that you don't get your money's worth. For the price they charge for a steak, they could throw in a side without having to pay... More

This was an incredible experience... a wonderful & extensive wine list and for starters... the steak tartare was incredible!! My husband had the bone-in beef tenderloin - perfectly cooked medium rare and I had the bone-in ribeye - also perfectly cooked medium rate with sides of onion rings & sautéed mushroom. Oh Wow! Worth the expense! Thanks to Holly for... More

This restaurant is in easy walking distance of many downtown hotels. My son ordered the best poutine I ever tasted. We ate at the more casual Grill. I loved the calimari, and the crab cakes. What really pleased us was that there were several nice wine choices marked at clearance prices, so we were happy to enjoy one. We then... More

The CUT, “NOT above the rest“, such as the promos would imply. I booked a NYE in Halifax, staying at the Westin, Dancing at Bearly’s (I’m a Blues Fan). I had planned this alone, but my GF decided she wanted to go and that meant fine dining was required for NYE. I picked The CUT, because most of the searches... More

Great service and excellent food. if you're looking for top quality steak expertly prepared and cooked, you can't go wrong coming here. Yes, it's expensive (steaks range from about $45 - 120 !!), but if you're looking for great steaks and somewhere special to eat, I can strongly recommend The Cut Steakhouse. Even the sides (veggies and potatoes etc) are... More

I wanted to take my mom somewhere for her birthday and she picked the cut. She drives a limo and drops off a lot of clients here and said that the place smells amazing. Well she wasn't kidding. There was three of us and we showed up a half hour early but they seated us right away as they weren't... More

Over priced, service was average. Question the weight of the cut served. The beef was tasty but certainly not worth the 97.00. Waitress promoted corn fed beef over grass fed????? Ordered bearnaise sauce......it was cold and tasted like a sweet mayonnaise with tarragon added. Should be warm and resemble a hollandaise sauce with tarragon. Very disappointed and will not be...
