I had my first Pho (shrimp) here and thought it was delicious; a complete meal in a bowl. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. With tax and tip, my total came out to $20.

Small family-owned restaurant in the heart of Halifax, providing a range of vegetarian and non-vegetariann dishes at reasonable prices. The food was tasty and absolutely delicious – certainly the best Thai food I had during the past years. Staff is very friendly. Vegetarians willl find a wide range of dishes to choose from. I'd definitely be back if I am... More

I eat at Vietnamese restaurants all over North America. Love Pho. The Pho at Gingergrass is about average. I will go back because it is still the best in Halifax. The service was outstanding. The waitress was attentive throughout the meal.

When looking for a quick and yummy bite to eat my friends and I will often pick Gingergrass. The food is very flavourful, the service always great and the prices are reasonable. The fresh spring rolls as an appetizer are especially delicious !

Talk about an owner's attitude spoiling an otherwise pretty good meal. Any time we asked for anything, even an extra paper napkin, the handoff was begrudging. That said, both the Thai and Vietnamese dishes were quite tasty. If you can ignore the owner, try the pho with chicken and vegetables and the basil tofu or chicken.

Expansive menu of Thai and Vietnamese offerings, we had the tofu curry and the vegetarian basil tofu - both delicious. The staff was friendly and brought extra seasoning to increase the hotness of my dish. Conveniently located, we sat in the window and watched pedestrians wander by while enjoying our dinner. We spent around $40 for two people and that... More

Have eaten here a few times and it is usually full which is a good indication of the quality of the meals. Plan to return.

This unpretentious little spot is exactly what you want in an ethnic restaurant. Minimal but attractive decor. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food beautifully presented. As an added benefit it's only a few steps from The Waverley Inn, Halifax's charming boutique hotel

I am not sure how a place like this gets good reviews. Part of my meal was actually microwaved. I watched them do it. Food was terrible. Service was good. Place is dirty. I guess there aren't many places to compare it. If you have eaten at a good place in Van or TO then this will disappoint.

We love this little gem. Nothing fancy is how I would describe it but the food, the service and the value is always there. The owner is usually working and is always pleasant and welcoming. Even though we have never won her draw :–º
