We loved the fried mac and cheese! So tasty. We had the wings as well and they were delish!! The beer is cold and the service is good.

Terrific patio! Loved the nachos and the herb-infused oils covering the chips! The service was terrific and the food, and atmosphere -- and of course the beer! -- were perfect.

Located in the Old Keith's Brewery, this spot has a nice rooftop patio which we decided to avail ourselves of on a beautiful summer day. We had a Keith's & a Mike's Hard and an order of their Lobster dip. A good quantity & assortment of bread came with it. The dip was tasty and at $11 or so, decent... More

Got the lobster chowder, I would highly recommend it. Thought the Alexander Keith IPA would be better on draft but it was'nt. I don't see how you can make an IPA without hopps. Server brought our meal and left, did not see her till she brought our check.

Popped in here for some drinks and lunch. Excellent rooftop patio, featuring many loca! brews.Diverse lunch menu. I had a garden salad with grilled shrimp, my wife had the quinoa rolls. Both were tasty and fresh. Our server, Emily, was friendly and efficient. Beer is eerved in either 14, 18, or 56 oz sizes with frosty mugs. A truly enjoyable... More

We entered Red Stag Tavern knowing this was the place Alexander Keith had begun his beer production back in 1820. Great effort has been put to keep the original decor and, as you enter, you get the feeling of going back to the beginning of this incredible Nova Scotia history. By the way, we had Alexander Keith's regular beer and... More

My husband and I were looking forward to sitting on the rooftop and enjoying dinner. Sadly it was closed, a bit overcast. We sat in a booth which the table, seats and menu were all sticky. It was like we came there after the bar had closed and sat to eat. Not clean or fresh smelling. Lots of choices on... More

The Red Stag doesn't life up to its founders high standards on the beer production side, and might be seeing red if he ate there today. Our waitress was okay but obviously bored to distraction and it showed, the food was okay, overpriced for the portion size and quality, much better atmosphere and much better food and service at other... This tavern is in a nice setting - in the Alexander Keith's Bldg. , on Lower Water Street , Halifax . It has a very comfortable indoor environment and a roof top patio with a great view of Halifax Harbour . The food - mediocre at best ! I had a small peperoni pizza - slightly burnt with teeth breaking... More
