We ate dinner here on a Monday. Were seated quickly and our waiter told us there was a 25 minute backup in the kitchen which was ok -- we appreciated being told up front about the wait. However, it actually took 42 minutes after ordering to even get our salads and I had to ask for them then (I timed... More

It was an extremely busy night nd our waitress who had only been working for one month was very hospitable. She kept us informed about wait times and found us a seat on the outside deck until an inside seat was avialble. We began our dining experience outside with drinks and appetizers and we were regularly checked on. As the... More

Not only did we eat a delicious supper in this restaurant which was alive with people laughing and having a good time, but we were fortunate to be there when the Cape Breton Chorus was enjoying a meal in the next room and they sang "On Top of the World" for us as we were leaving. It was truly a... More

Found this place on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. Went upstairs for the view and after a long enough wait went down to the lower patio. The waitress was very nice, friendly and well informed about the menu. Had the coconut shrimp with sweet chilli sauce as app, delicious! My wife had the lobster roll with... More

Comfortable place with good seafood chowder (mostly fish). Delicious bread that was between a roll and a biscuit served piping hot with butter. Good beer selection and Celtic band upstairs. A good time.

Ate dinner at this pub and had a nice table on the deck that allowed us to enjoy the view. Service was good but the food was typical bar food, it was average to say the least.

Not too many choices in this small town...but the food is decent and the service is very friendly. Sometimes the old fiddle music will get to you, as it is a bit loud. Lots of choices for food...and even vegan-friendly for those of us who are health conscious and animal lovers. The selection of beer and wine is better than... More

The restaurant was full so we went upstairs to the pub. Lisa was the only server on the floor and she did a decent job getting everyone served. The food was okay. We tried the maple flavoured salad dressing and it was actually okay. The Man Candy Poutine was tasty but not hot. Our group were happy with their Thai... More

Stopped at the Governors Pub in Sydney, Nova Scotia, after a morning tour of nearby Louisbourg Fortress while on a Holland America maritime Canada cruise. While the pub grub was OK and the local draft beer was excellent, the stunning harbor view from the second floor open deck was spectacular! The panoramic view of the harbor walk, the nearby cruise... Excellent steamed mussels, generous serving. Crab cakes were really good, but expensive for two small ones. Salad with maple flavoured dressing, fruit and added scallops - not fabulous. When you can buy strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc. in the local market, there is no excuse for canned mandarin orange segments. And three scallops for $4.99 ?? Pulled pork Po'boy, very tasty,... More
