Great meals!

Most inns don't serve dinner but thankfully this one does! The food was really fresh, very expertly prepared and beautifully served. I would definitely go back. Thank you Garrison House!

It's a bit old-fashioned, but a comfy place to dine in Annapolis Royal. the selection of wines by the glass was skimpy, and the waitress suggested that I try the Jost pinot gris. The decades-old Jost habit of supplying smaller NS restaurants with sub-standard plonk has left me more than a bit skeptical about Jost, but this was a full-bodied... More

We found the food to be rather uninspired and ordinary. After reading so many positive reviews, we were disappointed.

We were in town 3 nights and dined here 3 nights. We visited Compose to make a reservation the first evening but were treated so rudely by the host that we came here - and were so happy we did. The service was great. Food fantastic. Setting just like old Royal Annapolis.

We enjoyed a wonderful evening here after a horrible experience the prior evening at Compose. The atmosphere here is warm and inviting. The servers are friendly, witty and attentive. The food was spectacular. In our humble opinion, this should be the number one restaurant in Annapolis Royal. Because it is located in a hotel/B&B, some B&B owners will not recommend... More

Had an excellent salmon meal. Quiet, very nice atmosphere. Excellent service at a reasonable price. Located across from the historic cemetery.

This restaurant came partly at the recommendation of the hosts at the Hillsdale House Inn, which is within easy walking distance. The food and service were excellent. Best to reserve, especially on a Friday or Sat. night, because this is a popular place.

We had: -Field tomatoes with balsamic vinegrette and olive oil and basil -Tomato soup -Seared scallops with vegetables and wild rice -Grilled Halibut with mushroom vermouth sauce and potatoes -glasses of Nova Scotia wine The quality of food was good but the flavours needed a bit more development (something seemed lacking in each dish). However we received an excellent service... More

We had a superb meal here (chicken and pork tenderloin followed by delicious blueberry pie). It made a change to eat in a "proper" restaurant after days of eating in diners so it was lucky that we had dressed up that night. Service was quick and very friendly.

When in this area of Nova Scotia you have to have Digby scallops. Garrison offered several dishes featuring scallops. Both my wife and I ordered the seared scallops in a buttery garlic sauce. I was surprised to see when our dishes arrived that the scallops were very small. They were nearly the size of bay scallops verse the larger and... More
