For me, the mark of a truly great battered fish meal is taking that first bite and realizing that you will not be needing the tartar sauce, as it would only distract you from the light batter and moist fish on your plate. This was my experience at The Sea Dog Saloon today, and it will be a highlight of... More

Its their license. Food - so so. Beer - Yum. Turned out to be a pretty expensive beer. We got the poutine.

Sorry we were unwilling to break the law and put our business at risk to make this Trip Advisor happy. In the future we recommend checking with local customs and laws before traveling. Our staff is open and honest and are obligated to follow the rules laid out by the Provincial Government. In the future if you just want beer... More

Our lobster rolls were made with fake lobster meat -- that "crab stick" stuff -- instead of real lobster. Yeah, in the lobster capitol of Canada.

This individual is claiming that their lobster meat was not real lobster but crab meat. I would caution anyone taking this review seriously when the reviewer can not identify real lobster meat. We specialize in seafood and only use real seafood. Our lobster are locally caught and anyone that knows Nova Scotia Lobster knows how tasty they are. This individual... More

Great view, but that's where it ends. The food is sadly AWFUL. With all the fresh fish options you'd think that they could at least make a good FISH burger, but that's not the case. We find most of their food to be overly greasy, processed, and truly NOT worth eating. IT's a shame, with a good menu, a chef... More

This reviewer indicated they only ate a Fish Burger (which was made with fresh haddock) however their review implies they tried the entire menu which could not possibly be true since we do not have ANYTHING on our menu that is processed, not even our cheese slices. We also offer many items that are not deep fried like salads and... More

my mate jim has been having chowder at every restaurant we've been to and this was the best. really chunky. there is a ghost in the restaurant but we didn't see it or hear it breaking off at pool but this didn't really spoil our stay at the sea dog (don't expect to see dogs either). the waitress is lots... We popped into Seadog on our Nova Scotia tour. Amazing fish bites and very cold beer! Beautiful setting, friendly staff, and fun decor. We especially thought the metal colander light shades were a cute accent. If you are in the area stop by. We wish we were able to be there for one of their events or to spend an... More

Went to grab some dinner after a long day of traveling. Just wanted some pints and grub, after about 10 minutes, we were able to order a drink and an appetizer (deep fried pepperoni-yuck!) Then after that was dropped off, we weren't offered another drink, or offered to order our mains. We sat about 40 minutes without the server even... More

I wanted to eat lobster while in NS but not a whole lobster. I generally don't like poutine as I am not a fan of gravy. This lobster poutine was amazingly delicious. The fish cake was really salty (maybe supposed to be?) and the chow that came with it was excellent. Unfortunately, we were the last guests, but we were... More

The food at this restaurant (and I hesitate to use the words "food" or "restaurant" in association with this particular place) was absolutely horrible. Rarely do I leave food on my plate when I've paid good money for it, but in this case, I left all but about 2 bites uneaten. My husband's food was equally bad and were both... More
