Overpriced kind of place you go once

Historic surroundings but limited overpriced menu. Building is a fully restored old town landmark. Very touristy

With the long history of the building, it is a nice place to experience Yellowknife. The food is good and the environment is nice.

Great renovated building, food is great and well prepared. Upon opening the screen door you get nice flavors of the food; inviting. Not cheap but well worthed. Iconic building in Yellowknife definitely worth going. Atmosphere is nice and if there are lots of customers you are going to share a table and meet other people. Perfect for travelling and the... As it turned out, we were there on it's last day until next summer. After the sticker shock of prices (one has to walk around YK for about a day to get used to the high prices), we ordered a hummus plate ($14) and a bowl of tomato soup with bannock bread (small $7; large $9). We sat outdoors in... More

We had The Wildcat listed as "if we have time" on Friday after we go to the must do Bullocks first on Thursday and enjoyed it so much, we went back on Sunday. Its set in a great old log building, although the recent interior renovation OD'd on too much shiny varnish, but still a character filled interior of wood... More

Your guide is lying to you! This place sells mediocre local fair in a space that is like your summer camp mess cabin. The service provided is about on par with the school lunch lady you remember. The waitress spent more time hiding in the kitchen than serving anybody. I stuck it out, but during my stay 3 separate tables... More

I love eating in historic places so this was great. Kind of on the high side, but very good food. We had a bunch of appetizers so we could try a number of things. The pogos were very good and the pork melted in your mouth. The smoked fish was delicious. It was light, but full of flavor. We also... More

The Wildcat Cafe has been many things over the years and is now a summer only destination for meals. You sit at long log tables and are expected to share the table with other guests. It has a very rustic vibe. The restaurant feature fresh fish from Great Slave Lake and offers a number of non fish choices - and... More

An old log cabin remade into a restaurant gives this restaurant quite some character. Great service, live music on on the patio on Saturday afternoon's and a great view of the lake make this restaurant a must-visit in Yellowknife...so good in fact, that we ate there twice in the 3 days we were in town! Food is served on the... More
