I heard the property had been purchased, but no news on reopening. And I have to keep typing because the review has to be >100 characters. There.

This place was across the street from our hotel, and had ads for it in the tourist mags, but it was closed!! It seems much of the restaurants were closed - Bullocks, Wildcat cafe, Le Frolic. This was the first week of October. The locals must all take a break between the summer season and the coming winter season. Obviously... More

The food was overpriced for what you got, it used to be much higher class. The prices in general are extremely high and likely helped lead this place to close its doors.

Nice atmosphere almost non existent service. The fod could have been good but somethings were over cooked and it just didn't gel as a whole experience. I want the dining out treat we deserve and it's lacking in YK in general and so a place like this that COULD be excellent just rests on it's laurels. Creme Brulee was awesome... More

While a bit on the pricey side, the menu selection was great and our entire party enjoyed their entrees. We ordered the smoke Arctic char for an appetizer which was adequate for the four of us to each have a little sample. This appie came with a great herbed cream cheese and my only suggestion and some great crackers; my... More

Excellent bistro food in a charming and relaxed atmosphere. Chef Pierre makes his presence known ensuring a first rate experience. Warm friendly staff and a good wine list!

I found this busy little place on my last night in Yellowknife & decided to splurge. It is pricey, but it was worth it. French onion soup was exceptionally good. I also had the pork, which was delicious. Peanut butter Cheesecake was sinfully good! I did not have a reservation but was dining alone so I sat at the bar.... More

Was visiting Yellowknife for the first time, and on our last day, we decided to spoil ourselves with some good dining. We ordered the French onion soup, the pork chop, and the arctic char. The foods came out promptly and the food tasty. The restaurant itself looks nice and cozy, and we liked the vibe. The disappointing factor was the... More

I reviewed Chef Pierre's Le Frolic Bistro Bar on 16 October 2011 and gave it a "Very Good"... I just got back from a dinner there tonight and have to say that it's now a "Poor" I has three friends from China who wanted to take me and two other Yellowknifers) out for a meal.. (seven diners total) and I... More

I came here as it had a good review but the food was mediocre. I had a delicious chowder that was supposed to be served with bannock but they either don't know what bannock is or think the customer doesn't. Just an inedible bisquick type bun.
