small plates were good- bison goyza, prawns, baked oysters, cheese plate. Beet salad really good, wine selection good but pricey. desserts- brownie was dense and a bit dry, profiteroles light with a good chocolate sauce. Expensive

They're closed for vacation but was nice to accept my reservation via FB msg. Nice deco, friendly service, good food.

Yes I was told this restaurant is expensive. Sunday brunch cost $27 + tax and tips. But the quantity and quality were great. Coffee, tea, grapefruit juice, orange juice, fresh fruit plate, cheese plate - buffett style, all you can drink and eat. Main dish - eggs of your choice including omlette, benedict, frittata - ordered and served at your... More

From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but the decor inside is very chic, with mirrors, dim lighting for dinner, and ambient music. Service is efficient and friendly. We ordered the charcuterie plate, $29 of capicoli, speck, Genoa salami, prosciutto, pate, pickled veggies bread and corn chips for my gluten allergy; very tasty. We also ordered the brussel sprouts,... More

This is a fairly small, cosy restaurant with a fireplace, and it is perhaps a bit dark. The service was good and the food was really top-notch. Reservations recommended.

Yellowknife has to ship in most of their food and there are very few places that serve fresh, homemade food that doesn't come from a box. Thornton's is one of those exceptions and the food was delicious and worth the extra money for quality. The only negative is that the cheese plates are very strange - you have to order... More

This is a little different breakfast buffet. There is fruit, cheese, yoghurt parfait, coffee, tea and juice on the buffet. You order your eggs however you want them ( including amazing eggs Bennie) and they bring platters laden with fruit filled French toast, pancakes, home fries, and mustard glazed ham. We had two platters for 6 people, more than enough.... More

We decided to go to Thornton's as we had heard that it was very good and supposedly THE restaurant in Yellowknife. We went the night before Valentine's Day as they were fully booked for that night. It is small, which I normally like, the wait staff were all very nice and helpful. It was about half full, so we were... More

Attend the Sunday brunch. It is a unique experience and I do recommend it but be aware of the price and the noise. The meal is served as an an inclusive meal. You order from a choice of eggs (Frittata, Eggs Benedict, omelette, etc) and then, served family style, you receive pancakes and French toast on one plate and hash... More

I don't eat here often because it is so expensive and the portions are really small, even for Tapas. But when I do, and I hope someone else is paying, it is always delicious and good quality interesting food like: Steak Tartare, Oven Roasted Snails, Sushi, Good wine selection.
