Lovely! Great view and service!!

Went for a business luncheon with 13 colleagues. We were promptly seated and served. The waitress was most attentive and had no issue in accommodating a large table during a busy time of day. The food could have been a little warmer but was still delicious, well prepared and beautifully presented... read more

I recently spent 5 nights in St. John's on a business trip, and had dinner at Portabellos twice - it was that good. It's not cheap but totally worth it. Sat at the bar to enjoy the conversations with the locals. The 'Quiddi Vidi' local craft beer is excellent (I'm an IPA guy). And what a view! What more do... More

This place is fine and nothing more. Feels like a chain restaurant in terms of standard menu and service. Limited creativity or aspiration in the food. There are definitely other places to spend your money if in search of a high quality locally inspired meal.

Dined with three colleagues while in St. John's at a conference. Our group was met by a friendly staff person and seated at a wonderful window table. All of us ordered seafood - cod and steel head trout. The dishes arrived in good time and everyone commented on the preparation and presentation. Our server as attentive and professional. We ordered... More

Portobello's is a wonderful restaurant with a very unassuming front entrance. The dining room overlooks the harbour, and food and wine list are fantastic! I had the salmon and my wife had the scallops. Both cooked to perfection! The staff are courteous and knowledgeable and really make you feel at home. If you are ever in St. John's and want... More

There are so many good restaurants in St. John's and if you go along Duckworth street do not stop before you get to the building with the number 115 where the Portobello's restaurant is. The restaurant is overlooking the port and the bay. If you are a couple, ask for a table in the corner of the 2nd floor and... More

Evening menu was fantastic, a fair choice of in season local produce incorporated into a number of the dishes on offer. The environment was relaxed and the staff were very efficient and friendly. Everyone at our table of six enjoyed their selection. The portions were a fair size, which unfortunately left no space for any dessert.

We didn't have the average dinner experience here. We went for a meet and greet for all the family and friends of the Bride and Groom the night before their wedding. Portobello's put together a delicious spread of horderves for the group. Not only was there a ton on the table they continued to come around many times for the... More

We ate lunch there on a recent business trip to St John’s. The dining room is located on the 2nd floor providing for a great view of the harbour. The place was rather busy for a Monday. Menu was varied with many enticing seafood options. Amongst the dishes sampled in our group were, apple prosciutto salad, strawberry spinach salad, Caesar... More
