This was a very fine choice. The food was very good but I thought a little overpriced for what we got. Make a reservation as there is not much seating room and walking in may be tricky.

Oliver's is such a quaint, little place, with big flavour. We had a glass of Pinot and a club sandwich on homemade bread, with a ceasar salad with house made dressing. We wanted to try the Cream Brule, but had no room. This was lunch after all :)

The sandwich board on the street advertised halibut so we walked in. It was just at the end of the lunch rush but there was a banquette available. Our server was personable and took our order for four halibut specials cheerfully. A few minutes later he returned. Alas, there was only one halibut left. We debated who the lucky member... More

I visited Oliver's recently on a trip to Newfoundland and my friend and I went to Oliver's on our last day and what a way to wind down an excellent trip. From the moment we walked in we knew we were in for a treat. Everything from the nice new decor and the smiling servers to the delightfully prepared food!... More

Since my favorite place to get seafood chowder was closed due to renovations, I searched diligently to get my fix. Oliver ' s did not disappoint. It was fabulous and fresh. We all started with the chowder at our business lunch and proceeded to indulge in the fresh grilled hailbut delivered that morning. I will be back to Oliver '... More

The place was almost full when we walked in, and we were extremely lucky to catch the last available table for dinner. The ambience is warm and cosy. The two of us had wine, lobster and a seafood platter. The lobster tasted really fresh and succulent. The scallops were delicious too, though the salmon was slightly overcooked. I'd definitely be... Stopped by Oliver's for brunch. We had the lobster and shrimp Benedict and seafood chowder. Both were delicious and the service was great too! :)

A lovely little restaurant in downtown St. John's. The lunch was fresh Halibut with sweet potato fries- cooked to perfection, from the light seasoning to the proper texture. My daughter enjoyed her mixed shrimp stacked salad as well. Very fresh ingredients. We were served by the new manager Stephen - who was extremely accommodating. I would highly recommend this little... More
