Fantastic Seafood Platter

Went there on the weekend and the food was fantastic. It's about average pricing for downtown st. John's casual fine dining, maybe a little on the low end, so a good value in my opinion. Servers were really nice. The creme brulee was really, really good. The seafood on the seafood platter was... read more

Service was excellent! Good food and great wine - value for money but not out of the ordinary. Accommodated phasing the meal courses so we could get work done in between.

Went there on our anniversary.Started off pretty good ,nice slices of warm bread with butter. Our starters were good and bad.The seafood chowder was very tasty, nice morsels of seafood. The mussels were poor,at least one third of the mussels were unopen and inedible ! The seafood main was uneven! The shrimps were good, the cod and salmon were average! But the cod... More

Oliver's has been our "go to" place to eat a decent meal at a decent price since we discovered it a number of years back, but we hadn't been there for, maybe, two years. We decided on Oliver's for Mother's Day this year, with our daughter and son-in-law (also their wedding anniversary). The first thing we noticed was that the... More

First the good points: The service was good and in general the taste of the food is quite good but not exceptional. The not so good points: The portions were generally meager (but one pasta dish was not), the price for the 'specials' was a little higher than expected especially given the portion sizes. While the fish and meat parts... More

It was my first dinner visit at the restaurant, where I had already had a bruch in the summer. I was very pleased with both service and the quality of the food. The duck was amazing and super tender, as well as the fish platter. And the waitress kindly gave us not only one but two baskets of bread so... More

This restaurant is so cozy and warm. The staff are fantastic, delightful, and quite approachable. Especially the co-owner, Stephen. The last time I ate there with my friends, he personally came up to our table and asked how our experience and meal was, which was the perfect ending to a fantastic lunch. My personal favorite dish is the Salmon option.... More

Based on the high TA reviews, I came in with high expectations for the best brunch ever - we had lunch items - fried calamari (we preferred grilled but wasn't an option), cod cheeks scrunchins were great. Highlight was a creamy dill chowder. Server was overwhelmed with the number of tables. The front table was open the entire time with... More

I just went to Oliver's during the crazy brunch rush and as usual they never seem to disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious as it always is and the service was awesome even with the rush they seemed to stay on top of their tables and deliver the best service possible! I'll definitely be back

The secret is out! Oliver's has the best brunch in the city of St. John's. It's been my go to for the last three years, so much so my boyfriend refueses to brunch elsewhere. Never a problem getting a table. The atmosphere is perfect for two or for a small crowd. The mimosas are GIANT and delicious. We most often... More
