My favourite St. John's Bar

The atmosphere of this place is its selling point. The live entertainment is amazing for setting the mood and all in all my favourite place to drink on the rock! Guiness on tap and lots of whiskey. Food is good, same as what comes from Jungle Jim's kitchen. Lovely place :)

Good Music, Good Food, Great Service & Atmosphere, we returned several times over the visit. Prices were decent. Did I mention music every night until late?! The washrooms smelled awesome too

I admit, I am now somewhat of a regular at Shamrock. I happened on this place about a year or so ago and just keep dropping back in on Fridays after work. The bands are always fantastic and the food is on the upper end of pub food with some nice local seafood options. Over the past year or so... More

My boyfriend and I hopped in here one Sunday night to have a few beers. There are a few local beers on tap and they are decently priced. The atmosphere was fantastic, it really made me long to visit Ireland. There was a band playing folk music and they were amazing, they had a variety of different instruments that they... More

Folks, this is a pub, so depending on the crowd, your service might take a bit longer. If you're expecting fine dining, probably best to look elsewhere. But if you like live music, in a comfortable environment, with friendly people, this is my favorite place in town. It's the kind of place where you don't feel like you're alone, even... More

Never mind about the food, Never mind about the service...they tell you that St Johns is legendary for places to drink. and this place must be part of the legend. For a crammed sing along bar reminiscent of the best of Galway or Killarney Shamrock City has to be part of the legend. Go and add to the legend yourself!

We went there just for a few drinks but I think that is basically what you can do there: drink. When we were there they had a live band (extremely loud) playing and the place was jammed with people. There would have been a possibility to have some "pub food" but even locals told us that in concerns of food... More

This bar is very hit and miss when it comes to service. Lots of options for beer and drinks, and always good entertainment. The service however, is another story. The two times I have been here, the staff have been rude and seemed very annoyed. Was falsely and rudely accused of taking a 0.25 cent tip off the bar to... More

Had a nice dinner at this place, however anyplace that bills itself as an Irish pub without Harp or traditional irish fare is not what i would call an irish pub, good service, quick and good food, polite staff and reasonable prices

I don't know if we happened to catch this pub on an off night, but I've been of legal drinking age for over 30 years and this is by far my worst experience ever in a pub!! The service was awful. Our server took over 30 minutes to come and take our drink order. (We would have left but the... More
