I love this place!!! I've never had food from here but the atmosphere and the drinks are what always bring me back. There is always live music playing an always a crowd. If your looking for a place to hang out with friends any day of the week, this is the place to go.

We stopped in for lunch and quickly had our choice of seats and drink order taken. Our meals shortly arrived fresh and hot!! The 8$ lunch specials offer a good selection with large portions give it a try. Our server checked on us a couple times and offered tips on the city. Great service, excellent food, fair prices and an... More

We should have come here for dinner. We had eaten somewhere else, and came here for a drink and to enjoy the music. Everything was great. The service was prompt, the food that we saw being served looked terrific, and the entertainment was wonderful.

Could be a good place to drink a few pints, but not to eat! Chowder was bland (with a big film on top, like it had been siting there for a while, the BLT tomatoes were green and drowning in mayo, and the crab legs were the driest I had in my life. Didn't even finish them... would not recommend.

We didn't come during a time when a band was playing so can not comment on that, but we had some nice food and good beer, so it was a pleasant experience. The staff was welcoming and friendly too. Judging from the other comments this place likely jumps when the music is playing. Cheers.

With only one night in town and George street out of bounds due to a local festival,we headed here. The intention of having a few drinks and going else where for eats. The Guinness does take a long time to pour, but well worth the wait. Two bands in one evening. Both playing Irish folk music and both brilliant. I did say... More

My wife and I spent an entertaining evening listening to local musicians playing Newfoundland folk tunes and other songs. The bar was jumping and the service was great. What more do you need when visiting the "rock".

Visiting St. John's on vacation, my boyfriend and I decided to come down to Shamrock on recommendation of a friend. We loved the duo performing on stage and felt the atmosphere was very friendly. Our server was lovely, all smiles and even apologetic for the long wait to order (hadn't really noticed since we were enjoying the music and the... More

Chose the Shamrock due to a recommendation received during the boat tour of the sound. Service was a little slow and could have been more friendly, and soup, salad, and crab legs all arrived together rather than spaced a few minutes apart. I presented a coupon for a discount from the boat tour, but when the bill came no discount... More
