Good food and music

Great dinner – the fish and chips is to die for! We had the opportunity to hear some great music while we were there for dinner. Service was superb with that typical Newfoundland hospitality. Recommend this place for a taste of the region.

We had a great time at Shamrock City. We got a table in front of the stage. Everyone at our table ordered fish and chips. It was some of the best we had our whole trip. The batter was tasty and the cod was light and flaky. The choice of beer was good... according to my husband since I don't... More

We asked the guy who worked at the VIC where to go that night and we recommended this place. He said it was a place to go if we didnt want to get into a fight - I guess George St has a bad rep! It was a Friday night we went in around 8.30-9 and there was no seating... More

very spacious and friendly place, many beer options, live music, good food and decent prices. The seating near the windows are excellent as the windows open up and you can watch the tourist area

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime and the staff were very friendly, and the Guinness gorgeous. Quite busy for a Sunday, but I imagine the evenings and night time are really popular.

My husband and I recently went to Shamrock City on a Saturday evening for dinner. As this is a busy pub, we were pleasantly surprised to get a table without any delay. Music here is fantastic and the atmosphere is great! Our server was really nice and efficient and the food was excellent. I had the taquitos...very tasty... and my... More

Great bar with lots of quality live newfoundland bands the bar is owned by a local musician who obviously knows good local music. Didn't eat on this trip but I understand they share the kitchen with jungle hims which has pretty decent food. Try the india beer on tap!

The décor is well thought-out for a pub, we were able to enjoy a pint, have some pub grub, listen to some wonderful music by the Harrington Brothers and the best part was that our kids could come with us (till 8:30 pm)

We ended be here for some food and drink on my birthday. It was recommended to us by staff at our hotel. I was a bit unsure, but decided to give it a shot. I didn't regret it. It's a nice pub... not at all dark or drab. The entertainment was very good. Perhaps a bit loud for the small... More

Go! Just go! Don't miss this spot if you get a chance to visit NL. Lively entertainment, pub grub, relaxed friendly atmosphere. They also have similar pubs in Clarenville and the Goulds.
