A good spot for dining for two or with a crowd, just by the water, in the heart of Saint John.

Honestly, this wasn't exactly a romantic dining atmosphere I was looking for to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However, in a city where combination of good food + nice location + romantic atmosphere is scarce, sometimes you can't have it all. After reading reviews and hearing local people's... read more

Honestly, this wasn't exactly a romantic dining atmosphere I was looking for to celebrate our wedding anniversary. However, in a city where combination of good food + nice location + romantic atmosphere is scarce, sometimes you can't have it all. After reading reviews and hearing local people's opinions, including my husband's, I thought, SJAH might not be a bad choice... More

Food was ok. Staff however spent more time talking about what they were doing that night and hugging/groping each other rather than paying attention to customers.

The 30 plus draft taps caught my attention, and the accompanying food was excellent. We had lunch, but I'm sure dinner would have been great too.

One of my favorites in Saint John. It is easily one the nicest restaurants in Saint John with which also features a patio on the boardwalk. If you're lucky, live music will be playing on the boardwalk. Go there often with my gilfriend and it is always a great experience. We have gone there on summer days for lunch but... More

It's a shame this restaurant isn't in a city that I'd want to visit again. The food is good, and with careful menu selection, can be reasonably priced. They have a kid's menu, always a plus when traveling with the young. They source their ingredients locally, and post the source on the menus. Interesting takes on classic menu items. I'd... More

We have not eaten here in several years as our last experience back then was quite ordinary. Well, tonight we were on the boardwalk for SJ Idol and wanted to grab a few appys. We decided to split the chicken fingers with fries, thinking it would be the run of the mill fare. Much to our surprise the chicken was... More

Ate here at noon yesterday and had their $46 lobster roll with fries. Both were very good. Could hardly finish the roll. I'm sure there was more than one lobster in there. My wife had their pub club which was also great as usual. It is our go to meal here. We like their organic burgers too. Hand cut fries... More

Visited this great pub on Sunday with friends and had a few of their ciders and beers. A great selection which we all enjoyed. I had the fish and chips and they were truly amazing. The fish was completely fresh and only lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The chips (fries to North Americans) were flavored with rosemary and other herbs... More

We had an excellent experience at The Alehouse in June 2015. I have been to this restaurant many times and almost always enjoyed the atmosphere and my food but on this particular visit I had my niece with me. it was her first time at a "big restaurant" as she put it and The Alehouse did not disappoint. After experiencing... More
