Sigh.... All the patios are lined up on the water front and frankly, look the same. WE sat next door at Ryan Duffy's BBQ and watched the great food and service next door at Saint John Ale House. Next time I am in Saint John I will choose Saint John Ale House!!!

Great ambiance and good food. Sat outside and enjoyed the sun and people watching. I had the maple bacon scallops. Amazing. A nice selection of local beers. Attentive service.

Excellent beer selection including long list of local and craft beers and ciders. Price was average. Good atmosphere.

This is a popular place. The beer menu is lengthy and the staff is very knowledgeable. The chicken fingers highlighted on "You gotta eat here" are amazing.

Travelling as an extended family with a young one, a ''ale house'' might not be your first choice - but this turned out to be an excellent experience for everyone. Outdoor sitting with Harbour view What I liked: Of course, as an ale house, they do have a fine beer selection. That said, they do also have a nice menu... More

We had incredible appetizers at this restaurant. The bacon wrapped scalloped were the best we ever had. The chicken wings were Great as were the chicken tenders. The crab and spinach dip were yummy. Everything we had was a level above our expectations. The only negative would be the price of the lobster roll being $46.00 for two pounds of... More

I always make a point to visit the Ale House at least a few times a week when in Saint John. The Maple Bacon Scallops are a fantastic appetizer local to the Fundy Bay area. Also - if you've enjoyed something on a previous trip and it is no longer on the menu, don't be afraid to ask - if... More

First heard about the SJAH on the TV show You Gotta Eat Here so decided to try it while visiting SJ for a conference. Had a nice table on the outdoor patio overlooking the SJ harbour. Prompt and friendly service. The Pumphouse Blueberrry Ale was a perfect warm summer's day beverage. Ordered the fish & chips and it was excellent,... More

Located just blocks from the Delta Hotel, the Ale House had a varied selection of seafood. Recommend the steamed clams and the bacon-wrapped scallops. Their selection of beers is impressive. Try the Picaroon (and if you go to the New Brunswick Museum you will discover what a Picaroon is).
