Nice food, friendly staff, a bit pricey

Staff were inviting they thanked me for coming in. Very nicely laid out. Service was a bit slow but nit hurriedly so and waitress offered me a free drink to compensate. Enjoyed it very much

Had a small family wedding reception of 17 people. Between drinks and meals spent between $400 and $600 total. Waited 10-15 minutes for drinks, another 30 minutes for meals. The restaurant would not permit the wedding cake to be served since it was outside food. THIS IS THE ONLY RESTAURANT IN SAINT JOHN I KNOW THAT DOES THIS. The menu... More

We were in St. John's on a cruise and the weather was not conducive to sightseeing that day so what to do? We made our way to the covered mall, looked around and then spotted the Saint John Ale House. There is an upstairs and downstairs and we headed down to a rather sleek looking bar where we ordered a... More

Was under the weather and wanted some comfort food for supper. I had the bangers and mashed before and wanted to test the consistency. I was not disappointed! 2 good-sized sausages, lots of mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and a tasty mustard au jus (I think that's what it's called). Perfect for soothing the man-cold. Great flavours! If anything, I could have... More

I have visited this restaurant/bar several times and always receive excellent service and food. Their fish n chips are awesome. The last time I had the burger there, it may well have been the best burger I've ever had.

Food was fine. Service was slow. But what bothered me about the meal was the extra charges--when you substituted one side for another, you paid for both! I never saw that before. Needless to say it didn't leave a good impression.

This has been our 4th time here. It will now be our last time. We cannot be giving this place anymore of our hard-earned money. The food is simply not good and highly overpriced for what you get. I had the rabbit gnocchi and my husband had the scallops and moon fish on risotto. The gnocchi was okay but for... More

A meal here is not just another pub. Their menu is great and the food delicious. I highly recommend their award winning chicken fingers and the prime rib in peppercorn sauce. They serve in on a large Yorkshire Pudding. Awesome!. It's right downtown in Market Square so very accessible.

Four of us went for my BDay, and everything was on point. The staff was attentive, the selections were great, and the food was everything we hoped for. Would recommend to all to try for a great evening, great atmosphere, and great food :)
