very good food...

I worked in Saint John for a week recently, so had the opportunity to try several restaurants, this was the best. A very interesting menu, and all quality food. The scallop appitisers were amazing, the starters I had were like small veal burgers served on small, what seemed like home made buns, and... read more

Raised in Saint John, now living uptown, i have eaten everywhere in the city many times. This place serves the highest quality dinner you can find. If you like good food, with flovours that will almost bring a tear of joy to your eye, this is the place. The first time I went, the service was okay, but not amazing,... More

Loved the five course tasters menu. Surprise at every course. Lots of different tastes and new things to try. Great service and beautifully decorated. Loved the fact that the food was not over salted like most places.

So very surprised by the old, well maintained building and never thought with the name on the door it was the right place. Old Saint John, uptown, just wonderful area to explore. Food was great. Well presentation. Great waiter. Quiet. A lovely place to be!

It pains me to write this as we were here 1 1/2 yr ago and it was fabulous. This was a disaster! We were adventurous and decided to have the seven course chefs drill. Started with bland onion soup, followed quickly by bland over cooked mussels. Then we waited until a mesclun salad arrived drenched in dressing. Then we had... More

Went to one of my favourite restaurants last night for the Chop-Chop 2015 Restaurant week which gives you three courses for only $31.00. The appetizer I had was a delicious ceasar salad. The main course was pork belly that was absolutely wonderful and capped it off with sticky date pudding (good but perhaps not one of the better ones I... More

Always wanted to try Decimal 81 and got round to it during winter chop-chop 2015....and was it a disappointment. The food itself was very average to say the least. At our table of four, the majority of food came to table cold. This was for starters and main course. We also found the food very bland, the biggest disappointment. The... More

My wife and I had supper there last night to celebrate her birthday . We made a reservation for 6 pm but for the first 45 minutes we had the place to our selves. Very comfortable atmosphere. The apertizers were great. I had the sea scallops, my wife had the roasted acorne squash. Both were really good. For the main... More

We finally got around to trying Decimal 81, and are so glad we did. Visited for an anniversary dinner and both of us tried the chef's 5 course tasting menu. Everything was excellent, with unique combinations and flavors (who knew a beet reduction would be so tasty?). Our server was super friendly and obviously enthusiastic about the restaurant and the... We finally made it to Decimal 81. We decided to try here for "ChopChop". The service, food and atmosphere was fantastic! Everyone ooh'ed and ahh'ed throughout each course and we all left very full and very happy! Be sure to try it out if you haven't yet.
