Urban Deli lives up to it's tag line of 'old fashioned. Slightly sophisticated'. We love to put a spin on some favourite old fashioned dishes like our popular meatloaf sandwich. We have the deli classics like Montreal Smoked Meat and our popular Reuben Sandwich. Urban Deli was featured on the Canadian Food Network's 'You Gotta Eat Here' featuring our Muffuletta & Uptown Big Beef Bad Boy sandwiches and our famous lemon sour cream pie, which has travelled as far as Alberta & Ontario. We also offer catering for lunch or private functions. If you are craving something other than deli, see Italian by Night for our authentic Tuscan Style Italian menu for dinner.

Nice lunch surprise

Not knowing much about this restaurant, my partner and I went in for lunch. We actually grabbed the last 2 spots available. They seem to be busy with reservations. And I can see why! The food was so delicious and was very well priced, between $11 and $14 if my mind serves me right. Definitely going... read more

Amazing staff, it's alway busy at lunch time, but staff always find a table quickly. Reservation recommended. All of the sandwiches are done with fresh homemade bread and made with the freshest local ingredients. Many different sides to chose from including soup. Homemade brewed flavoured ice tea very tasty and not sweet.

Finished off an excellent family vacation with lunch. Arrived at approximately 1:45 pm and ALL the booths were still full! Our family of 5 grabbed one end of the communal table and our 4 year-old got busy with colouring books. Excellent, pleasant and quick service. We had: - Mac&cheese for the kiddo and she loved it. Almost finished the adult... More

We were in Saint John for lacrosse and happened upon the UD for lunch. Ordered the chowder which was hot and yummy. Lunch menu varied with sandwiches, burgers, and the like. Desserts looked amazing so we decided to return for dinner. After 5 it transforms into an Italian eatery with dining fare equal to a Greenwich Village bistro. We had... More

The food was delicious, but I found the waitress was not particularly welcoming. In general she simply wasn't pleasant, but at least once she was pretty rude.

Since it opened, the Urban Deli has become a go-to lunch spot for locals. The food is always good and made fresh. They have a good variet of dishes and nice vegetarian options. They make the best drip coffee of any restaurant in the city. Most of the items on the menu run between $10- $12, which makes it easy to have... More

Recently I was fortunate enough to be off when this place was open. Whenever I can get in, I order the Vegetarian Pesto Pasta. it's AMAZING. I wish my workplace was closer because I would visit often. The only downside is the hours... I always seem to miss it. Other than that I highly recommend this place for lunch.

We go here for lunch each summer while visiting Saint John. A great little deli with a good selection of food and beverages. The service is excellent and the food has always been good.A must to try is their iced tea !
