Great place

Tried a couple of items from their tapas menu and these were not bad at all. The staff were great and they were happy enough to modify some of their dishes to make them gluten free. They offer cider (Magners) and claim to have a gluten free beer as well, the latter we did not try. Beer and wine... read more

Tried 6 dishes: Calamares came with TARTAR SAUCE, like the bottled kind you buy at grocery store, pretty sure that doesn't even exist in Spain. Jumbo shrimp in ajillo, good, but 6 shrimp cooked in garlic for $16.... Monk fish cakes. Terrible, no way they were fresh. Don't order. Ropa Vieja, essentially beef stew. Good but essentially beef stew for... More

Part of the fun is finding the spot...once there the experience begins! You will be welcomed by a smile and brought to your table. You will not be rushed... so sit, relax and enjoy the spanish atmosphere. Accompanied by a good bottle of wine, savor the many tapas, as we do, ordering one dish at a time. The selection is... More

I go to Alley Gria a few times a year and always have a great time. My wife and I always go with at least two other couples... they have a separate room if you have a larger group. They only serve starters, not entres, and they have a great assorted of flavoured martinis. When we go each person orders... More

Really enjoy this place. It was very pricey but if you go with a bunch of people is the best way. This place is made for sharing.

Tucked away at the end of the alley in downtown Saint John is a wonderful piece of Spain. We were looking forward to visiting Alley Gria based on past reviews. The warm ambiance, friendly service and exceptional food exceeded all of our expectations. The menu at first appears complex and may leave you wondering where to begin, but where ever... More

This restaurant always manages to exceed expectations every time we visit. The variety of tapas are great. You must try the paella. We love the clams-these are little pieces of tasty heaven! You won't be disappointed by anything on the menu!

Not many locals are fully aware of this little gem but it's one of the best places to eat in the city. Warm and cozy interior that has a 'cellar' feel to it. Great tapas to share, as well as wine selection. Decor is fantastic and the harbour views are invaluable.

Friday August 10th 2012 a very reasonable priced bottle wine list, enjoyed the Salmon Ceviche, the Spanish Tortillas were okay, but loved the marinated lamb chops $30 ... Recommend Alley Gria's marinated lamb when dining in Saint John.

Food was good. Service was good. Little hard to find. Can handle large groups but you all can't sit together. Worked out fine though as we just moved around and socialized.
