I had a customer in town and we went to Cafe Dario for dinner. As always the food and service was excellent! I love this place as you can get one of the absolute best meals in Winnipeg for very affordable prices. A 5 course meal is $39/person and for what you get it is great value! There is also... More

Cafe Dario is a great place to have lunch. It seems to be a well kept secret in Winnipeg, yet everyone seems to know about it. Great selection for lunch, with a menu that changes frequently. For those that enjoy lamb, their lamb chops or rack of lamb are excellent choices for lunch, when on the menu. The food is... More

Sunday night is often a slow restaurant night in the city. We were returning to Cafe Dario because of the great 5 course meal we enjoyed in May. This evening for the appetizer my wife ordered the Baked escargot "El Diablo" while I enjoyed the Frogs leg. We shared each other's dishes and were hard pressed to choose a best.... More

Appetizers - shrimp, elk were tasty. Veal with shrimp , rack of lamb both great, Jamaican bean soup was nice , moose dessert. Definitely worth a return trip.

Dario's menu is always changing based on what he finds in season. His mushroom soup is excellent, haven't had a chance to try his alligator yet!

Cafe Dario has been one of my favourite restaurants in Winnipeg since I moved back. Located in an older renovated house at the corner of Erin and Wellington you might not expect to find one of Winnipeg's very best in this neighbourhood. Don't be fooled, this place is one of my top 2 restaurants in Winnipeg and well worth the... More

The food, presentation and decor was all fantastic. A full 5 course meal for $39. Exotic well presented plates with very good service. Great value for a evening of fine dining! Plan for a 1.5 to 2 hours!

The food here demonstrates that the chef is careful and serious about cooking. For our dinner we had a prix fixe meal, but we were offered choices for appetizers, soup, entrees. The option we chose included wine as well. Everything was beautifully made, with careful presentation as well. Our salad was wrapped like a gift. No really. ...The only puzzling... More

Cafe Dario is located in an old house on the outskirts of Winnipeg. Decor is eclectic. Service is friendly but somewhat leisurely. Where the restaurant soars is in the quality and interesting character of its five course $39 menu. Elk ribs, chicken empanada, and grilled calamari appetizers were outstanding. A wonderful chowder combined the flavors of grilled corn and cauliflour.... More

I have had the wonderful experience of discovering one of the hidden gourmet gems of Winnipeg. This is now my 4th visit in just over 5 weeks and Cafe' Dario has never disappointed! I have no hesitation of taking some of my biggest clients (not to mention family) because they have never failed to surprise me on quality, consistency and... More
