Not sure why people rave about this restaurant. It's terrible. Service is so-so, food is trying really hard to be special - but it's just not. Skip it, go across the street to Deseo and have a good meal instead.

The food at this restaurant is a real treat. The lunch and dinner menus provide plenty of options. Try the short rib sandwich. It is so good you'll want seconds. Also a good selection of local draft beers. Live music on select night(s). It does get busy here, so plan ahead.

Dish: 72 Hour short rib(s). Although flavourful, it took no more than five bites to finish the single rib on my plate. After 45 minutes waiting for appetizers, and another 50 after that waiting for the "main course," I bee-lined it for a drive-through on way home. I would not recommend Bistro 7 1/4 unless you can carve several hours... More

There appears to have been a change in ownership and the previous chef is no longer there as we were told. We they have there cannot handle the number of dishes that available previously. Their famous mussels that were available are no longer on the menu. Last year we were there and they lost our reservations and had to go... More

Finally made our way to this restaurant for a friends birthday and we were hoping to celebrate. We all came hungry, .....we all left rather unsatisfied. The mussels for the appetizer were great, but we were there to eat. We also had ordered a number of "large plates" to share amongst our group as well. To say the least, I'm... More

I made my second visit to this restaurant and they are consistent. Consistently disappointing. Once again I was served a plate of artistically arranged small pieces of meat. And nothing else. This time I ordered the lamb meatballs and for $16 I got three tiny meatballs on a plate. No vegatables, no potatoes, nothing else at all. This is a... More

We really enjoy going to Bistro for a fix of mussels... best I've had. Killer menu with fantastic choices in all things meat. Cocktails are fantastic and the desserts are the best. The only reason I'm docking one mark is the ventilation system in the open kitchen is a little weak... cloths always smell like they've been in a kitchen... More

A busy spot, for good reason. It just doubled in size! Uncommon mains, like breast of duck, excellent lesser known wines, great service, easy parking on neighbourhood streets nearby. Pricey, but worth it. What else could I ask for?

Bistro 7 1/4 quickly became a favorite of mine when I moved back to Winnipeg 2 years ago. However, the last two visits have been a bit disappointing and it may be awhile before I give them another chance since Winnipeg has so many other amazing places to choose from. The disappointment has more to do with the service then... More

The Foodies came here back in December, but I'm just reviewing this place now because Bistro 7 1/4 left a very bad taste in my mouth (pun intended)! First of all, we were seated in the back which was so dark that we couldn't read the one-page menu, so I had to bring out my mini flashlight! Those who were... More
