The reviews about Sydney's at the Forks have been mixed, so I was really hoping for a better experience than what others had. We arrived just in time for the last reservation and the fellow who seated and served us was very friendly, polite, and professional. We did the Ciao menu and enjoyed what we ordered, salmon and steak. The... More

We decided to try Sydney's "Eat Winnipeg" menu for our recent anniversary. We always Iike Sydney's, but sometimes find their 5 course menu is a bit too much food. This was just a 3 course menu. Service was pleasant and helpful. I had the BBQ Duck Summer Roll as an appetizer, which was good. My husband had the Grilled Heart... More

We were visiting Winnipeg this July and had decided to dine here as we arrived late on a Friday evening. This was not a good decision. The food is average at best, and there was quite a bit of pressure to order drinks as soon as we sat down.We got the impression that the wait staff were under instructions to push their cocktails.... Seems quality is gone. Raw lobster and shrimp. First few times were good but last visit was terrible. Didn't want to complain but later on wasn't feeling good at all. Manager tried to simply refund lobster portion of meal and wasn't, in my opinion, very genuine in his apology. Hopefully the space will be changed soon.

I returned to Sydney's for dinner with friends after having deliberately stayed away for almost two years. Although lunches there had been nice, dinners had been disappointing. This time, although not stellar, the meal was nice. There were some highs and lows. Service was exemplary, probably the best in the city in terms of clearing and setting the place. There... More

I had a business dinner here tonight, with a group of about 30 people. I was very happy with the overall experience and would definitely come back again. The service was very good and attentive without being disruptive to my presentation. Our water glasses were always filled and the wine was flowing. The servers were always making sure we had... More

We don’t often go out for dinner and were excited to splurge on a nice meal. The service was a bit informal for our liking. The food was okay at best but was not nearly enough. My crème brule was ice cold and probably the worst dessert I've had in my life. Unfortunately, I got “food intoxification” a few hours... More

Went out for a birthday with our close friends and wanted to go somewhere special so decided on Sydney's. Although the restaurant has a great view, we were not sat in that section of the restaurant despite having a reservation. The food was good but the apps were so small and plated on giant plates, we actually laughed. The "salad"... More

This is the second time I have entertained clients when visiting Winnipeg. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food wonderful. However, this time I experienced a bit of slight of hand. After placing our order the waiter asked if we would like an order scallops. We all declined. About halfway through our meal the waiter brought 2 scallops and we... More

Let me start off by saying the service is impeccible - we were the only ones in the restaurant for the entire time mind you, but still, he was perfect. Started with cauliflower bisque and tandoori roasted winter squash - both of these were excellent, better than our entrees I think. Entree of pork tenderloin which was a big disappointment... More
