Went in November. I had a pasta dish which was okay. Ribs were not great--very chewy. A steak was okay and pickerel dish was okay. Many more exciting restaurants exist in Winnipeg's downtown. Won't be back. Service was fair.

Short & sweet! My steak was cold! The butter did not melt on my baked potato. The server brought out 3 steak knives after we'd had our steak for 5 minutes. There were 4 of us. My spouse had to ask for his jus for his prime rib. Two others at our table also got prime rib… with their jus.... More

The Charter House has been around so long you kind of forget it's there. A recent newspaper review prompted my friend and I to check it out before a Jets game. What a delightful discovery! The service was prompt and courteous and the food was excellent. We started with classic martinis and they were expertly prepared. The basket of bread... More

My wife, myself and and another couple went to the Rib Room to celebrate our anniversaries. My wife order the prime rib dinner. It arrived only slightly warm and the potatoes were virtually cold. How can a baked potato be served cold? Myself and our friends ordered the rib dinner. The ribs were also more cold than hot and the... More

Enjoyed my prime rib! Tasty, meaty, filling! Mashed potatoes were as basic as could be but I'm ok with that! Service was good, fast. Restaurant was 1/3 full so not too crowded! I'll be back when I'm back in the pig city! I think that's what they call it!

We ate here while on vacation. Although it was in a Best Western hotel, the restaurant has been around forever and was kind of a Winnipeg institution. However the food was just OK. The rolls were kind of stale and you could tell they were just warmed up and not baked fresh. French onion soup appetizer had lots of yummy... More

Prompt, friendly service (which continued to be attentive for the rest of the night) brought us fresh hot buns while we enjoyed our wine. Choice of soup or salad followed... ample salad. The prime rib and New York Striploin were both excellent, as were the baked potatoes, loaded with as much sour cream, bacon and green onions as you want.... More

After a day of meetings we were in downtown Winnipeg and looking for a good steak dinner. One of our group said let's go over to The Charter House and check out The Rib Room. None of us had been there in years and we were not even sure if it was still open. A quick check on the iPhone... More
