Description: Shawn & Connie Brandson have brought their award winning team from Provence Bistro at Niakwa Country Club to their new location at Provencher & Taché. With the closing of Provence on December 31st, 2011; they decided to purchase Promenade Bistro and serve fabulous French comfort food at reasonable prices. They are building on the strengths of Promenade’s breakfast and lunch service while adding a café aspect of fair trade and organic coffees to go at this landmark St. Boniface restaurant. During the evening the restaurant will feature affordably priced food and wine pairings as well as service till midnight.

My husband and I visited Promenade Café and Wine on the recommendation of our daughter. The menu had many fine offerings from which to choose, but we opted for the prix fixee four course meal with wine pairing. due to an allergy, we asked if the appetizer could be substituted and we were accommodated. Therefore, although we cannot comment on... More

Great server: Beata, positive and attentive. Food excellent, we had duck and tortiere. Desert is best around. Good wine selection: Caymus on list, say no more! Will be back again soon.

This is one of Winnipeg's finest dining experiences. They specialize in French comfort food, but the menu is just varied enough for everyone's taste. I've had breakfast - excellent, and the Bison Tourtiere at lunch, which is just outstanding. Very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with, perhaps, the best view of Winnipeg's skyline. Do yourself a favour and go.

This place has a great lunch menu and wine list that allowed me to enjoy my final hours in Winnipeg overlooking the Red River and the bridge from St. Boniface over to downtown Winnipeg. I ordered the Moules Frites, and even though the mussels were perfectly prepared, the thinly-cut fries were what stood out for me.

We had a group of 20 people join together at this restaurant for a 40 year reunion. The restaurant was lovely with a great view. Food was wonderful and Joel took great care of us. Plan to return.

My family and I visited Promenade for a Sunday morning brunch at around 1030h. We were seated nicely in a quiet spot. The hostess was very accommodating for a relatively large group (there were 8 of us), giving us a comfortable location. I ordered the petit déjeuner bistro. It was flavourful throughout. I didn't have to worry about my coffee... More

This is a busy little restaurant on the corner overlooking the Provencher Bridge and the soon to be open, Museum of Human Rights. They have a small patio out front but we opted to eat inside. Service was pleasant and unrushed. They have a menu with lots of choices and a few specials, soup de jour, quiche de jour, and... More

Wonderful food; pleasant, knowledgeable wait staff; pleasing decor, and a view to die for - perfect photo op for The Forks, The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and the Esplanade Louis Riel. It all makes for a very enjoyable dining experience.

From the moment we walked in I knew the night would be perfect! The staff was super friendly - offering service in both french and english. My Hubby and I were seated at a window table over looking the Human Rights Museum and The Forks. We ordered the fixed price tapas for two, with the wine parings. Each of the... More
