Our anniversary dinner

The food is great with a varied choice so that both 'surf' and the 'turf'. The food is prepared right at the table by a chef that provides some entertainment. Over the years we have eaten here many times, and for the first time, we found the experience disappointing. The food choices are all expensive for the service received, and the evening was not a relaxing dining experience. First, there was not enough help. Only two cooks were available, and-though they tried- they could not keep up with the food... More

For our 39th anniversary, my wife and I decided to return the Ichi Ban. We had not been back for several years and felt that it was time we returned, First some words to the wise, avoid parking in the Delta Hotel Parkade unless you know it well or like to tackle mazes. After searching for the right elevator, we... More

We were a group of six looking for a change from the traditional eating establishments. This is a unique restaurant based on Japanese cuisine. The menu is not extensive, but there was enough of a choice so that both 'surf' and the 'turf' lovers were satisfied. The food is prepared right at the table by a chef that provides some... More

If this was once a top-rated place, its time has certainly passed. Food was just ok; not worth the price they're asking. Chefs are entertaining, staff pleasant. Biggest turn-off is how old and tired the place is. In DIRE need of updating, if not simply cleaning the place. Will not be returning.

My wife enjoys going on her birthday. We had not been there for years so went back. I do not like seafood very much so just got the filet mignon. It was very tasty, however they cook the food in a certain order and if you didn't get all the different courses you wait along time. I was fortunate that... More

Has been years since we have been to the Ichi Ban Japanese Steak House, this si the only establishment in Winnipeg where you can experience true teppanyaki dining. The portions are huge and this is the only time in my life that I eat chicken livers, they do a fantastic mixture of flavours with the chicken livers and a forever... More

I'm surprised that anyone would go to Ichiban for the food. Having been here a number of times in the past, my culinary expectations were not high, so i was pretty satisfied by what we were served. On the other hand, this is a good place for a family or other social event where the emphasis is on the happy... More

I was very disappointed with the Ichiban in Winnipeg. I haven't been to it since the 80's and I won't be returning any time soon. The prices are very expensive for what you get. i couldn't believe their only appetizer included with the meal was chicken liver (who serves liver). BTW it tasted just like liver - gross! Of course... More

The food was OK. The waitress didn't speak very good English. She made a mistake with our order and they were not very good about it.
