Great German food!

I had a wonderful dinner here last week. The portion sizes are enormous, and so delicious. Their on tap beer was also good. The food here certainly isn't cheap, but it's worth it!

Had a very disappointing dinner here last night. Service was abysmally slow and it wasn't even busy. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for pre-dinner drinks to arrive even then order was wrong. Ordered more drinks later and another 20 minute wait just to find 2 of the 4 drinks ordered were wrong. Didn't complain though as we didn't want... More

You know that feeling where the server is seemingly avoiding making eye contact with you. They can only make a pass through the dining room with one task at a time. The food is worth the trip and I am sure this is a favorite place for many looking for an authentic German dining experience. However, even the greatest food... More

Lots of variety on the menu, especially 10 or so of the house specialty, schnitzel. Many different toppings and combinations. Good German beer. Very plain exterior; homey and "German" interior. Easy to find.

This was my 4th visit to the Gasthaus Gutenberg, and as with my previous dining experiences, I was pleased with the service, decor, and quality of my meal. On 3 occasions, visiting family members have been equally pleased with the quality and portions of the meals, and one time, visiting work colleagues also expressed satisfaction with their meals and the... I've driven by this restaurant for over 25 years and never gone there, but our daughter wanted to try it for her birthday. The decor could use a few touch-ups but there is a nice German feel to the place. The waitress was helpful and attentive without hovering. Four of us shared the "Schnitzel Platter" just for the fun of... More

The exterior and interior décor wasn't that impressive. It was easy to look past it though when we received a warm welcome of the host and of our server. We were charmed! There was a delightful and talented young woman who played the accordion and guitar. She was game to play anything - especially if a group was willing to... More

The food is excellent. Portions are great. And while the service was generally good, it did take a long time to get our food. As long as you're not in a hurry, I highly recommend this place for a good meal.

Just returned from Sunday "brunch" buffet with friends and know we will have to go back. Too many wonderful things were left untried and there was no more tummy room. Note this is NOT a "regular" Sunday brunch. There are no eggs, bacon, or waffles offered. There are delectable salads, an overbundance of meat dishes including delicate and perfectly prepared...
