I ate here with friends on a Thursday night. Great food. The chef/owner visited our table after our meal. A great family owned restaurant experience. For people who like to eat at restaurants off the beaten pathway. We shared several dishes. My favourite was the fried plantain. The chef was very accommodating. We didn't bring our own wine, but you... More

I've lived in the Caribbean for 25 years (I'm from Winnipeg). My "West Indian" husband and I were recommended Purple Hibiscus. Sit inside and enjoy Reggae Music, listen to the accents from the islands as you discuss the menu with the chef and enjoy! Her food is fresh, made to order and delicious. We asked for a few island favourites... More

Friendly and delicious neighbourhood restaurant with teh best jerk dishes in the city. Simple decor inside and sidewalk patio outside, this unpretentious restaurant will introduce you to new flavours and tastes that will spice up your life!

I have been here countless times for lunch and have yet to be disappointed! The cassava frites with garlic aioli are soooo good! Always start with a double and have a jerk option for the main. Avee is super nice and puts love into everything she serves. The St. B hotel is a sketchy venue but the food keeps me... More

I recently had lunch here, and it was fantastic. I had a daily special, tomales with spicy chicken, peppery broccoli, corn bread, mango salad, and deep fried plantain. The flavours were wonderful, and the food was fresh and hot. It's more than I usually eat at lunch, but I had to clean my plate because it was soooo good. I'd... More

Arriving at 7:30 on a Friday evening, we were afraid that there might be a long wait for a table. Fortunately for us (but less so for the owners), only one of the six tables was occupied. This is small, simple, and unpretentious place, but the food is outstanding. The "dougla" -- a stew made of pork and vegetables, was... More

Place is somewhat clean 2* maybe. The food is really good and spiced up but pricey $$$$. Good presentation but poor service. Not enough to go back too but definitely a good place to go once.

Delicious home style meals. We had the jerk chicken and jerk ribs as mains along with the chef's surprise sides (which was a nice touch). The jerk was the best jerk since our visit to Jamaica. Excellent family style service in a clean and simple room. Lots of delicious food for the price.

This small & cosy restaurant, located in its own corner of the St. Boniface hotel, is definitely a hidden gem! Very tasty Caribbean style offerings - menu has gluten free & vegan friendly choices. Love the open kitchen concept in restaurants! Presentation of food is lovely and the idea of bringing your own wine is great! Make reservations as there... More

Wow, I loved it here. Very small restaurant, have to make reservations, nothing fancy about. Open kitchen, can see everything going on. Family serves you - can bring your own wine! We didn't know that, oh well, next time. A few wines and beers on the menu otherwise. Started with some fried chick peas, wow loved those and some bread... More
