Enjoyed dinner late last year to celebrate birthday, with dishes which included skirt steak, beet salad & truffle gnocchi as highights. Sunday breakfast is as good, with steak and egg for father's day a real treat. Not to be missed.

Located on Osborne in the old Vesuvios building, Deseo is a hidden gem. A stylish, relaxed atmosphere upstairs with comfortable decor. The chef is highly inventive with his dishes. We were there for lunch, and tried the beet salad and the crunch salad. Of course, we saved some room for dessert. We tried the flour less chocolate cake and the... More

My girlfriend and I like coming to Winnipeg and enjoying their restaurants. On a recent trip, we came to Deseo Bistro at the last minute on our 2nd last night in the city. Already having visited our favourites and some new places, we were unsure what to expect. My girlfriend isn't a huge fan of meat, but the fried beef... More

I had been here for lunch about a year ago but had never been for dinner. And I am so very glad that we finally gave it a try. The ambiance, the service, the menu, the presentation and the tastes were all so very good. The kitchen dealt with food allergies with diligence. Our server was most helpful with answering... More

The neighbourhood and outside of this restaurant were not at all promising, but we ended up being very pleasantly surprised by our Sunday-evening dinner here. I was under the impression that Deseo Bistro offered a tasting menu, but this wasn't the case; instead, we selected 6 appetisers for sharing, with the guidance of our friendly, laid-back waiter. While all were... More

Every dish my husband and I shared with our friends was amazing. My new favorite restaurant in Winnipeg. Will be coming back soon.

I met a friend for some appetizers and a few drinks. As with my previous few visits to Deseo Bistro the service was excellent and the food was great! We shared the mussels and an interesting egg plant/lentil dish. Both dishes were amazing! I love this place and it is definitely one of my favorites in Winnipeg!

Order a selection of tapas from the 'Small Bites' side of the menu and share. Or order a salad and an entree from the 'Big Bites' list and go your own way. Original, tasty food and staff that know how to serve well. Daily specials in each category so the menu doesn't get old. My favourite was the mushroom brioche... More

This is a great Winnipeg restaurant that serves delicious and out of the ordinary. My husband and I shared the Crunchy Salad which lived up to it's name and was a delicious choice. We also shared the raw tuna appetizer that was a symphony on my taste buds. The main meal was the short ribs and we fought on who... More

Winnipeg has a lot of restaurants, but not very many that could rival places in Chicago, Montreal etc.. This place does in a heart beat. It is cozy, visually interesting, but most importantly the food/ drinks & service are spectacular. Since November I've been trying to go to this restaurant at least once a month. Each time our servers have... More
