I wanted a nice place to take a business colleague for lunch. Hy's is over done so I selected Chop. I had last visited a few years ago for dinner. I raved about it then and I'm pleased to say it's still wonderful. Restaurant. Upscale and tasteful. Different ambiance during the day vs evening. Brighter. Where as evening I remember... More

I thought this was a bit more up-scale than it was... It was ok, but nothing special. Drinks were good, service was good, food was okay.

My spouse and I had this restaurant (and two others) recommended by our hotel and, being the closest and lovers of steak and prime rib, decided upon Chop. The atmosphere is upscale and modern but the "music" (I guess that definition would essentially cover it) was a mixture of some type of rock and blended with weird noises. Looking at... More

Went here with a few guys from work. This is the first time I've ever sent back 2 meals. The first thing I ordered was a prime rib. It was the greasiest, toughest, tasteless piece of meat I've ever been served by far in any restaurant. Sides were over cooked, veggies that had no flavour. A couple of the other... More

service impecible, food fantastic, ribeye steak and lobster wife had seafood salad. French onion soup is as good as someone else here said, and the attention to detail cannot be understated. i mean the chef came out with a refrigerated fork for the salad wrapped in linen. same with the spoons for desert. Man was desert good, it was the... More

They should call it "saw" because you need one. My boyfriend and I ate here on a Friday night. Nice, trendy atmosphere and friendly staff. We each ordered steak--a sirloin and a prime rib, both medium rare. They were both really difficult to cut and to chew. The rest of the meal was good, but we expected a steak restaurant... More

We ate dinner here on a Friday night. We decided against appetizers in case the entrees were large. Good decision! I had the prime rib. It was pretty good, the side of mushrooms made it great. My son said the French onion soup was the BEST. He orders french onion soup everywhere we go and said this was the best.... More

I was there at 8:00 on a Monday night. It was busy, but not overly busy. There were table available, no line, and I was able to walk right in and get a seat at the bar. All night, however, all of the staff were complaining about how immensely busy they were. My lobster fettuccine took almost an hour to... More

Great food and service. Trendy decor. Great patio. Caters mostly to hotel guests being a little off the beaten path, but worth a visit even if not staying at the adjoining hotel.

We had a lot of people tell us that this is one of the places to have a good steak dinner in Winnipeg. I was pushed just to give this a Average rating. Service was good, nice decorations but the food was not quite there plus for two with two drinks expect to be in the 155.00 to 175.00 area.... More
