Great setting inside the train car

A very good meal in a lovely restaurant in a transformed rail car. The homemade soup and desserts were scrumptious. Would definately recommend.

I went to Resto Gare after not having been there for a number of years. After I managed to find parking, I recommend looking on the street vs trying the puzzle parking lot, I was pleastanly surprised. I was there for a buisness dinner and we were seated in the back at a nice table. The one server was good,... More

I have enjoyed the tourtiere in the past. This time I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. The chicken did not taste fresh and the mashed potatoes were not great. The dining room was almost empty. The service was great although it seems odd to leave the desert cart out in the dining room.Too pricey for what I got. Next... More

My dad and I dropped by for dinner quite early and were lucky to get a table. I had a smoked salmon special for the evening which was seriously one of the best meals I have ever had; the way the fish was smoked was to perfection, paired with an excellent not-sweet Canadian Reisling. Our waiter, Curtis, was over the... More

Food was very good and service was excellent. We had the beef plate, swordfish dish, ratatouille dish and the salmon and lobster dish. Everyone commented about how much they enjoyed their meal and the flavour. Resteraunt is close to downtown and has a nice atmosphere. One of the rooms is actually an old train car.

Went with some friends to celebrate a special event, and everything was lovely as usual. This is definitely one of Winnipeg's finest restaurants. A local French restaurant, there are a few lovely vegetarian options on the menu. The wine and dessert selection is lovely. Nice environment, great value for a fine dining establishment.

This is a very good restaurant, and you will definitely need a reservation on the weekend. The Tourtiere is special, with crunchy pastry and a moist and tasty interior. The homemade soup is really good, but my dining companions swore by the salads as exquisite - they certainly looked good - and the crème brulée was outstanding. The service is... More

we took some friends who had never been to resto gare before. It was a very busy night just before Christmas so the pace was hopping. Nevertheless, our server was knowledgeable, wonderful, and extremely attentive without being intrusive. Short ribs are my downfall-but I am very critical of poorly made ones. Resto Gare's bison short ribs are the best i've... More

Gourmet food at its finest. Can not believe I have never known about this little gem for all the times I have drove by. Service was excellent and server was knowledgeable on menu and provided clear and descriptive explanations to our questions. He was quite friendly and not stuck up like you would expect.
