This is my first time this year for Restogare and ever bit as good as last year!

A small group of our Winnipeg Foodies (6) went for the Dine Out Manitoba menu and there were two price selections ($38 and $28) My dinner was off the more expensive version and was just excellent .They let me subsitute the soup of the day for french onion for a small surcharge- very pleased as I... read more

The welcome was warm and the dining room was comfortable and nicely appointed. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable and my guest and I both received our meals exactly as ordered. The menu is quite extensive and interesting.

Located in a converted 1914 train station, this restaurant has been a mainstay in St. Boniface (Winnipeg) for 45 years. The dining room includes an attached 1914 observation car. The meal was excellent. The service was attentive and professional, at the right pace to enjoy the historic atmosphere. The menu offers standard French cooking, along with some interesting surprises, such... More

Had a birthday dinner in the rail car and it was delightful. Good food and service, It is unique and has some great dining options. We were in bit of a rush as we had a show to catch, would have enjoyed to linger a bit longer. The fish was delightful .

We went here with a large-ish group of friends (10 people in total) and were seated in the train car. It was a very nice and very unique setting. The waiter was excellent - very friendly, helpful, funny, and he dryly slipped in random Simpsons quotes every so often without even cracking a smile. They had some very reasonably-priced wines... Ivisit a great deal, and enjoy every meal. The ambience, the train attached to the old station, is wonderful, and offers diners a unique experience in this city. The menu changes reasonably often, and incorporates a number of traditional signature French dishes in addition to a wide variety of new creations. Their wine list is also first rate; the co-owner... This restaurant, once the local French gem, continues to go down hill. A celebratory night out recently was a huge disappointment. Food ranged from mediocre to acceptable but ordinary. Presentation was sloppy, deserts sad looking. The worst feature was the service. Either untrained or badly hired servers shoved plates across the table, served over guests and made inane excuses like"... More

I had lunch today at Resto Gare. The restaurant atmosphere is beautiful. The service was very good with servers accommodating our needs. The seafood crepe was so delicious that I want to return soon to have another.

I wasn't crazy about Resto Gare but was happy to try it with a friend who loves it. If I were to go again, I'd make sure I had reservations for in the train. I found the food a bit costly for what you got. The food was tasty, but not worth the price in my mind. The service was... More
