Mr friend and I came for dinner - my first time, and for my friend, many times here. It is one of her favourites. We were seated in the train car which had a lovely atmosphere and ambience. Service was friendly and pleasant. I had the house salad followed by the bbq salmon special which was served on potato croquettes,... More

Visited Resto Gare on Saturday, July 12th with a friend. Last two times I have visited the food did not compare to previous visits during the last ten years. Friend also said that after gong to Resto Gare over the years -- would not go again. Friend returned the tuna special- yes she did know that it was supposed to... More

Very good food in a high class environment. Being in a train car was an interesting experience. The waiter was very good but kept nudging the drinks (we're water drinkers, mostly for health reasons) and I felt there was a little dance going on there with that. I highly recommend the maple pie for dessert. We each ordered a slice.... More

A group of us came for supper on a Saturday night. We sat in the train car, which has a really nice atmosphere. It was quite busy, and service was somewhat slow. We ordered a variety of dishes including Salade César, Tourtière, Steak et Frites, Mac and Cheese, Gnocchi, Boeuf à la Bourguignon. We also tried several desserts. Everyone was... More

This was our first visit to Resto Gare. The venue was quite nice (& clean) - we dined in the train car. Excellent staff - very attentive & pleasant. The food was good - but didn't WOW us..... the portions were a good size & fairly priced. We had gone for supper to cellebrate a special occasion, which we mentioned... More

very good interpretation of many of the French classic, but with a regional twist. Impeccable preparation, and polished service in a refined, yet comfortable environment. Will not disappoint!

The last time we were here, it was still La Vielle Gare, and we were not too impressed. However, the radio ads made it sound like a new and better place, so off we went! It was terrific! Even better than I remember it in the "old" days. My husband and I both had some of the best French meals... More

La Ville Gare was one of my favorite restaurants when I lived in Winnipeg years ago. On my visits 'home' , my group of friends gathered at different restaurants over the years. This last visit, I suggested Resto Gare after looking at the online menu - which by the way has an impressive array of items at modest cost. We... More

beautiful place, awesome staff, and great food, but it is up scale, don't wear jeans and a baseball hat. You will feel underdressed, but they will still treat you with respect. Had a good night. would definitely recommend. Better for a couples date than a regular diner, althought they are supposed to have a deadly lunch for the average hungry... More

First time I went I was 18. I am now 55. It was known as La Veille Gare back then. I don't go every year but it is the restaurant that I come back too. Service is top notch. Food is awesome.
