We stumbled upon Jan's on the Beach while looking for breakfast. Good thing we did! We both had one of the Eggs Benny (Cindy had shrimp and I had salmon). Wow, what an incredible way to awaken the taste buds in the morning. Plus the patio view across the bay is amazing, especially during the quiet of the morning. We... More

You know you are in for a treat when a neighboring restaurant states "sorry we are not open but the best breakfast in White Rock is down the street"! We were not disappointed, great flavours, all made from scratch, awesome! Then, I got to see the eggs Benny the next table had, we'll I am coming back for more! What... More

They had caesars (drink) on special and we ended up drinking four, they were so good. Spicy and delicious! The food came quickly and tasted excellent! The waitress was attentive, friendly and fast. They have a great patio, too, with an ocean (sea) view. We felt that at Jan's items were priced reasonably. They are still restaurants-on-the-beach-in-white-rock prices but, Jan's... More

All the food was really tasty and it was great to eat lunch at and just people watch while looking at the ocean. The bar be cue was a lot better than I expected BBQ in that part of the world to be. Kudos on that as I'm hard to impress with BBQ. It's not really a place for kids... More

My two teen boys, my mother-in-law and my husband joined me here for brunch on my husband's birthday. We added one more person early in the day and called ahead. When we arrived, there was a table for six behind us but the five of us were squashed into a table for four. Why? No one used the table for... More

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary with a nice lunch on the beach in White Rock. She checked on-line and found good reviews for Jan's on the Beach so we booked a reservation via the web for 1:00pm. The gracious hostess didn't seem to have our table ready when we said that we had a... More

You're absolutely right, we let you down, and Jan and I are truly sorry you had a poor experience. I only wish you had let me know before you paid your bill; I should have at least taken care of that. I know you won't be back and I don't blame you, but please know we will do our best... More

Have visited Jan's for breakfast, lunch and dinner on numerous occasions since she opened some time ago. Great location and room. Jan is an accomplished chef and her work in the kitchen produces outstanding dishes. However, when she's not in kitchen, it can become a bit of an adventure and the quality of the plates can be uneven. Of course... More

My daughters and I were in Vancouver for a dance competition and as it was also my birthday wanted to make the day into a special treat. We had never visited White Rock and when I looked online at several restaurant reviews Jan's stood out for me. We were not disappointed. I ordered mussels in a white wine and saffron... More

Lovely location, delicious food, awesome service. They were also able to easily accommodate my gluten intolerance. I also love that the food is fresh and local. The waitress with the greenish-blue hair (forget her name) was delightful. All three of us LOVED our meals, the experience and the view. We will most definitely be back next time we come to... More

My date had the smoke salmon pasta dish which tasted like warmed over left over food out of a can, and need a magnifying glass to locate the near invisible salmon bits. My bison burgher is adequate.
