A Rooftop Hard to Top

This is what beachfront, open-air dining is all about. The rooftop at sunset along with the superb food will make this an evening to remember. The service is not terribly fast due to the popularity of this place but just sit back and take it all.

The only thing I liked about my first and last visit to the boat house was the incredible view it offers on its rooftop. the waitress got me the wrong food after a 35 minute wait for fish and chips.

The food is the same, terrible....unfortunately it's the one restaurant with the greatest view. We had guests over from Japan and decided to stop in for lunch. This restaurant is completely over priced, and over rated. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and it came looking like a pile of bread crumbs. The main dishes were nothing to speak... More

We have eaten here a number of times over the years finding it average to good and having the best view of the water of any of the many restaurants. However, this visit was underwhelming especially since we were entertaining guests who had never been here. We arrived for a late lunch and the restaurant did not appear very busy,... More

Four of us met for lunch at The Boathouse in White Rock, BC--five minutes over the US/Canadian border. The food was average without flair. The service was terrible. Even getting a glass of water became a major challenge. We had to ask the server three times for water. When the water was not forthcoming, we asked the hostess twice as... More

I enjoy all seafoods including shellfish, squid, and fin fish. I have three restauraants that I go to to satisfy this cravihg: the Boathouse in White Rock being one. The Boathouse serves fine examples of mussels in wine and cream sauce, grilled salmon steak, and seafood fettucine: all meals which I have experienced. The Boathouse, given its ambiance and decor... I hate to leave negative reviews but I feel this one deserves my honest feed back of my experience. I was very disappointed in this establishment. I had always wanted the chance to dine here thinking it would be a better quality in food and service type restaurant. I traveled from Vancouver Island and booked a special event. Service was... Went today for the first time with my girlfriends for lunch. Perfect view and roof top patio are such a lovely place to eat lunch or go for a sunset drink. We had the calamari which was delicious, perfectly cooked . For lunch I had the fish tacos which were good but kinda dry. Get a side of the Harissa... More

Though you can sit inside on the second floor, I recommend the third floor deck right on the rail for the best view of the water. My wild fresh salmon filet burger was generous, delicious and with a firm bun. Enjoyed the Okanagan greens with asiago cheese, too. Topping off my rooftop view beautifully was my warm brownie with vanilla... More

I have been here a number of times but keep forgetting that the access is on a side street, not on the main drag. The main dining room is upstairs with beautiful ocean views. I had the planked salmon and loved every bit. My 14 yr old son had fish and chips and it filled him up, which doesn't happen... More
