Superb place for dinner or lunch!

The food at Le VoL Au Vent is amazing - the desserts, absolute decadence ... if you have room for it! The atmosphere is as though you are in a french country home, very personable and relaxing. Be prepared to spend a good deal of time here - as Madame runs the place according to her own schedule... read more

Four of us went here during the Bite of White Rock. hadn't planned to have the tasting menu but it looked good so I did. Michele and Nana are always super hosts. started with the Calamari nicely done. I had the pate which I have had before....always constantly good. half duck with cherries was very good. one of the many... More

Thank you so much for a memorable evening. The meal was fantastic. We liked that we were not rushed. We thought your menu was quite unique for the 2016 Taste Of White Rock. You exceeded our expectations. It is obvious you work hard to offer authentic French cuisine. We are local residents & look forward to another fine meal.

We have dined here twice now and both times the food has been excellent. It is a small bistro overlooking the beach. The owner cooks while his wife serves and they are both very friendly and efficient. Everything is cooked from scratch. This last visit was for the "Taste White Rock" menu and the value was unbeatable. The canard aux... More

Went here for a birthday dinner. Felt like we had arrived unannounced in someone's home. The bisque tasted like lobster shells. The food was nothing like we have had in other French restaurants. Service was condescending and even though there were only two tables of diners (ours and another table) they slammed us back to back and we hardly had... More

I have eaten here several times. It is very French. The owner is the chef and the server is his wife. Everything is made from scratch and it's perfect. Not for those on a diet however. If you have room for dessert it is usually diplayed and you can't miss the decadence. My favourite meal is the crepes. The vol... More

We were visiting one of our favorite places in the lower mainland of British Columbia. White Rock is a lovely seaside town with a wonderful walkway along the sea coast. It also offers several boutiques and restaurants. We decided to try Le Vol au Vent. The place was almost empty when we arrived but we were warmly welcomed by our... More

Its like walking into a small town French Bistro, not flashy, but authentic. For us north americans they have food which will delight, the cold salad with warm seafood is the best in the area, steaks, and chicken. I've been lucky enough to have the sweet breads, Coq au vin, rack of lamb, duck, head cheese, the mushrooms, pear tart,... More

It has been one of those hidden gems; a friend of mine recommended; we went with my husband and now is one of our favorites in town. The chef is the owner and his wife helps him hosting and explaining to each client the menu, the daily specialties and you might see her with a basket of exotic fresh mushrooms... More
