Unfortunately, the owner/chef died in Novenber, so Le Gros is no longer open. The future of the location is uncertain.

We visited this restaurant in the off season (end of September 2013). Delightful atmosphere, excellent food, reasonable prices,(yes, even though this is Whistler we're talking about). The owner /chefs could not have been more attentive while at the same time giving us all the time in the world to enjoy our wonderful meal. Well worth a little trip down the road... More

It was actually 'Le Gros' when I visited, as one of the partners had moved on. I stopped in during a quiet time in the early evening and was very well attended by the owner-chef. The food was marvelous and rich, the atmosphere was very welcoming - even though I was the only one there. Well worth hopping a cab... More

A very welcoming, home-like atmosphere. We had the best Venison ever, with an amazing surprise addition of White Chanterelles.

Everything about this restaurant is tired. The decor is a throw back to the 70s and unfortunately so is the food. The salads are uninspired and served with bottled dressing. We had the special salad of local tomatoes and it was doused in a sweet white dressing which was too bad as the tomatoes were lovely. The steak was inedible,... More

We had a great meal and good service at this restaurant. Off the beaten path, i.e. not directly in Whistler Village, but only a 5 minute drive away. I'm surprised that it's not ranked higher than some of the overpriced chain restaurants in the village. Definitely worth a visit while in Whistler!

This is a little gem just outside of the village that is well worth visiting. Really good, fresh, quality food and generous portions. Pretty good wine selection as well. The Chef/Owner is a real treat too. Service can be hit or miss but I put that down to the transient workforce in the resort. Not unusual.
