Il Caminetto is the older, more refined sibling. Both were great. Enjoyed the lobster pasta!

Il Caminetto di Umberto is one of our "go to" restaurants whenever we are in Whistler. While it is on the expensive side, it is well worth it. There is always a varied menu selection so something for everyone. The service is outstanding.

Have been before with my wife and friends and it was expensive but ok. This time I went with my teenage daughters and we were seated in the bar, alone in a far corner, having walked past many open tables. The hostess was condescending, if not arrogant. Wait staff were slow, boasting the same wonderful attitude....we walked out. They could... More

Discovered this restaurant on the Village Stroll a couple of years ago. Returned twice during our latest skiing trip to Whistler and were not disappointed. It's still as good as we remembered it. We also discovered the lovely piano bar this time - such a contrast to all the other bars in the village. We spent a relaxing couple of... More

We thoroughly enjoyed two nights here at Umberto's. Drinks and dinner was delicious, and totally relaxing. We came again for lovely cocktails and live piano music. The music was as delicious as the dinner and drinks. Service was impeccable. A must, if you are in Whistler!

We love visiting Il Camineto and make sure we do every time we come. We go with teenage children and it's a gorgeous meal - really delicious food and lovely service. I highly recommend it.

This restaurant reminds me of our favourite restaurant in Collingwood after skiing. We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere. The carbonara was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and joked around with our party of 7. Too much food, couldn't try the desserts which looked great. Unfortunately they ran out of mussels that night. Oh well next time. We would go back again.

after experiencing rim rock cafe , bearfoot bistro and araxi We wasn't overly impressed. The bread was cold. Slow wait staff. Caminetto means fire place which we couldn't understand why there wasn't one for the ambiance. Dinner was adequate. we brought our own wine which saved the evening. We would go back for the tiramisu but not dinner. Quattro appeared... More

Whistler has an abundance of excellent fine dining restaurants and casual restaurants and in our second season here this place is the only one to really disappoint and earn a review below 4* on here (and we've reviewed loads of Whistler restaurants) - it just isn't very good. Food was below average - unusual food combinations that just didn't work... More

Unpretentious fine dining with excellent ingredients and cooking. Araxi is perhaps more 'interesting' (and also very good), but Caminetto I think overall ultimately delivers the better food taste experience.
