We were lucky to be in town during a quiet time in the season and, for this, we were rewarded by a two-week dining event which saw all of Whistler's finest restaurants offering their menus for competitive prices. We managed to reserve at Araxi on a Thursday evening for a night of five courses for $32 per head. All of... More

Araxi is one of those iconic Whistler Village restaurants. It serves quality food in tasteful surroundings, served by professional staff. The wine list is extensive and high calibre, the food menu is varied enough to please all palettes yet not overwhelming. Servers are attentive without hovering and speak intelligently to food and beverage choices. If brimming to capacity it can... More

What started with a not friendly welcome at the door was rescued by the bar tenders, both of whom were very welcoming. Service at dinner was good, as were the oysters and a surprisingly great salad. Fish was great but the chocolate cake with caramel sea salt ice cream was to die for. Prices are high, but we knew that... More

Perhaps I don't know as much about food as Mr. Ramsay (In fact I know I don't), but I was not blown away by Araxi as I expected I would. I love food. From fine dining to pubs to fast food I can appreciate the time and place for each one of them. Since a restaurant such as this prides... More

My partner and I went to Araxi for the 'taste of Whistler'. It was a pre-set menu for 35$ (amazing deal for this quite pricey restaurant). The reception at the door was friendly, nice decor on the inside although a little noisy acoustics, and prompt greeting at the table. The food was really really spectacular. Well structured dishes, beautiful flavours,... More

Atmosphere was good, but could be a bit noisy if you are not off to the side. Service was excellent! Food was very good, but not great. Everything we had was a B or B+. This was a very nice restaurant, but if you only have one night, Rimrock is far and away better.

The review is for dinner at the restaurant (not the bar). Araxi has first class written all over it: festive decor, great service and imaginative food with local ingredients as advertised. The style is eclectic cuisine with japanese, french, continental and North American touches - several nightly specials are on offer. Extensive wine list. The restaurant achieves a level well... More

I had higher hopes as Araxi was featured on Hell's kitchen during the Winter Olympics back in 2010, and I was impressed but not blown away. The steak tartare was very good, and although I wasn't really prepared to eat raw meat I actually somewhat enjoyed it...the flavors were amazing. The steak was top notch and the service was good.

My husband and I came for lunch here last summer, everything was amazing, and its in such a great location in Whistler. everything from the wine, appetizer, main course and the best melt in your mouth black forest cake I have ever had! I am actually not much of a fan of black forest cake, my husband wanted to order... More

Right in the Center of village, with live music in across, relaxing atmosphere soothed our long drive from Kamloops. We ordered two entree, sweet corn basil soup and Vancouver island octopus chirashi. Were skeptical about how they would prepare this typical Japanese entree. We were wowed. The main were wild prawn risotto, and beef tenderloin. Definitely expensive but definitely worth... More
