Excellent food, wine and service. Front desk was rude.

We arrived late for our reservation and we asked if we could be accommodated. The senior woman in charge at the podium seemed quite perturbed and finally offered us a high top table in the bar. Her annoyance was clear. Many bar tables were available and we were very happy to sit there. I am not... read more

Ate at Araxi some years ago. I remember a good meal; but this latest was superb. The BC oysters were fresh, tasty and complemented with grated horseradish of just the right heat level. So simple yet so perfect. Soups and salads were top notch and beautifully presented. Entrees again were just right--we had duck and halibut, both were cooked and... More

The food here is quite good, although not stunning. What is stunning is the wine list. Not the selection, but the prices. The sommelier (apparently the restaurant has only one) is, according to the self-congratulatory plaudits printed on the list, sommelier of the year in British Columbia according to some organization. The criteria for this designation are not specified but,... More

fabulous dining with friendly and knowledgeable sommelier that inspired us to return for 4 o'clock appetizer of 10 oysters for $15 and then a delicious charcuterie!

My wife, two daughters (9 & 12) and I were fortunate enough to have made a reservation a couple weeks before our Whistler ski trip. This restaurant is not to be missed! We showed up a few minutes before our 7PM reservation and it was quite hectic in there. It took 5-10 minutes for them to figure out where to... More

We visited Araxi for apres-ski fondue which was wonderful. We ate in the bar area which had a relaxed, warm atmosphere. We had the fondue with truffle oil - delicious. The wine list was excellent with some excellent value choices. Service was good - efficient but not obtrusive.

We had dinner at Araxi a couple of weeks back. We started with oysters at the bar. They serve them with fresh horseradish and a raspberry vinaigrette. Awesome! Fantastic! Out of this world! We went straight to dinner and had starters followed by Angus Reserve Bone in Ribeye - PHENOMENAL! What a decadent way to spend dinner. I finished this... More

We went to this restaurant on our first night in Whistler as we had eaten at the Blue Water Cafe in Vancouver (which is in the same group) over the weekend. We were not disappointed. Both are sensational. Wonderful ingredients cooked with a light touch but put together in a way that makes you realise that James Walt has an... More

Araxi never disappoints. The beef tartare was a bit bland, but the meat was very lean. The selection of charcuterie was heavy on salami, but the duck pate was delicious (a very, very thin slice only). Two of us had duck breast, and while one of the breast was totally tender, the other one was one third tender, one third... More
