Just ate there this evening with our two children (11 and 13) and had the most amazing food we have eaten in a very long time. Menu is a little daunting initially but we chose several different dishes and all of us were thrilled with our selections. Feeling brave I chose elk tartare as a starter, it was a fabulous... More

What a unique menu and great presentation of the food. The staff are were very attentive and knowledgeable. Wine list had a nice selection of local BC wines. My wife and I enjoyed our meals (she had duck and I had the tuna). Preparation was perfect and nice balance of flavors. This is a very nice spot for a special... More

A true foodies delight, no question the best food in whistler. Here on a 2 week holiday but had to return here to try another dish. Prices are fair for the quality. The staff extremely well informed and helpful Julie, John. Sydney, Australia

First restaurant we tried in our visit to Whistler and we were not disappointed. My boyfriend said he had one of the best meals he had ever had! Mine was very good as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It is a little expensive, but not terrible.

Alta Bistro was my favorite restaurant during our 8 day trip to Whistler. Featuring local and sustainable food, imaginatively prepared, this small and unpretentious place was our best meal in Whistler and among the best I've ever had in NYC or Europe. Canadian food? How about elk tartar with a duck mouse? And the wine list was carefully assembled and... More

My husband and I visited Alta Bistro on high recommendation - and we are so glad we listened and booked in. This restaurant was flawless. We were lucky enough to experience the degustation menu on the night we visited. Each course was absolutely perfect - total taste sensations. The combinations of flavours were the best I've experienced for a long... More

We dine at Alta with very huge expectations but it turned out to be very disapointing. It was a busy Friday night, but when every other customer got good service we were totally forgotten and had to wait for 40 minutes between our first course and main course. We were starving and very upset. ( especially my teenager son) When... More

We had an excellent meal at Alta Bistro on our holiday to Whistler. We stumbled in for an early seating with our two small children. No kids menu - hooray! - as this is fine dining, but the kitchen will do small portions of the menu items. My children loved their pork cheeks with forbidden rice risotto. The food was... More

There has been a few times that I have left a restaurant and be proud of them. Is a local cuisine with local products and staff, just how is meant to be. Every dish is serve with pride. As I said before, is a must in whistler if you want to live the local culinary culture.
