We dined here two nights ago and enjoyed one of the best meals of our lives. The taste combinations have to be experienced to be believed. I had the elk parfait to start which was different but delicious. We both had the pork for a main and were impressed that we needed no extra vegetables/ salad. All the flavours of... More

Very sophisticated place - extremely committed to environmentally sound practices, but still delivers delicious and inventive food. Crispy pork blly and Dungeness Crab appatizer followed by pan fried Char with asperagas panna cotta - just an awesome meal. The staff are very professional and knowledgable about the menu, the source of the ingrediants and the preparations. They made several accomodations... More

We just got back from a week of dining and hiking in Whistler, and loved the Alta Bistro so much it is the only place we ate at twice! The $45 three-course meal cannot be beat! The food is excellent, especially their desserts. The atmosphere is intimate without being pretentious, and the noise level low (perfect!). Definitely worth the short... More

The offseason set dinner is jaw-droppingly good value. The cocktails and wine list are also pretty special.

We had the set menu here in late June. If you make it on Sunday-Thursday before June 26th 2014 this constitutes incredible value -- three courses for $25, less than the regular price of some of the entrees. We had a fabulous meal. Started with Vancouver Island oysters, moved on to beef cheek and arctic char for mains. The beef... More

I've been here a few times for dinner and I've always enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. Their menu is based on seasonal availability and the source many of their ingredients locally. It makes for a varied menu with unique tastes. The service is attentive and personal and the atmosphere is relaxed .

This is my favorite restaurant in Whistler and in many ways epitomizes what West Coast cuisine should be. The style here is a bit hard to describe - french food infused with a tinge of molecular gastronomy along with sustainable ethos including foraging for local ingredients. That may sound like they are trying too hard but it comes off across... More

Our dinner here was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. The elk tartare with duck confit was fabulous. Each forkful was markedly unique...a great combination of flavours. My wife loved the lamb shoulder and I thought the beef shin was excellent. My wife is not really a dessert person but she practically licked the... More

We have been going to Whistler for several years, and Alta Bistro was recommended by some locals as the "hidden gem" of Whistler Village. Wow, is all I can say. From the handcrafted cocktails including the best Caesar ever made with fresh clam juice, to an ever changing menu focusing on local producers and local ingredients. My wife and I... More

We managed to get in on the last day of the indulge in Whistler. The two us enjoyed the $21 pp deal. I enjoyed the interesting lentil soup of the day and out there salad. Full marks to the chef on creativity. The main course beef dish was exceptionally tender but the killer was the caramelized shallots. The adjunct dill... More
