Locally inspired cuisine set in a casual bistro atmosphere. Chef Nicholas Cassettari combines his classic training, top tier experience, and world travels with the best of B.C.'S bounty to create the fine flavours at Alta Bistro. Service is casual and prompt in the dining room and bar. The wine list is French focused, with the best of B.C. As well as international selections (many by the glass) with Enomatic machines dispensing fine and eclectic selections to pair with Alta's cuisine. Mixologists behind our bar craft some of Whistler's finest cocktails. The cozy bistro atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Reservations are a must.

We incorrectly imagined Whistler to only have ski resort style pubs. A quick check on Trip Advisor lead us to Alta Bustro very close to our hotel. Every facet of the dining experience was excellent - welcome, decor and ambience, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Then the food ! The chef roughly does french style but with a flair for flavour... Great place off the main drag, wonderful people and food. Order the bread, it's worth the $5. The food was excellent, wine listings are good, prices are fair. Top notch service!

On a friend's recommendation, we switched last-minute to Alta and were so happy we did! From the Cherry Bourbon sours to the ganache for dessert, we enjoyed all our courses as well as great banter with our server. The wine list is extensive and the food scrumptious. Will most definitely eat here again.

Last week I dined at Alta Bistro with my family visiting from Australia and The States. The food was incredible, great variety on the menu to choose from, great flavours and creativity and perfect serving sizes. Two of my family members are vegetarian and they were more than satisfied with their food options! Alta Bistro is a cute little restaurant... More

After walking by about a hundred pubs crowded with drunken partiers, we happened on the Alta Bistro. At 7PM it was full but we got the last 2 seats in the hall by the waiter's station. Pretty much everything we had was unusual and excellent. I had the beef bavette which was slices of perfectly medium rare beef served with... More

As a foodie in Atlanta, GA, I get a bit spoiled when it comes to farm-to-table restaurants. We have JBF winners and nominees in this town left and right, with Restaurant Eugene, Miller Union and ESS to choose from, it's easy to judge a lot of restaurants against high standards. We came into Alta Bistro with no expectation other than... More

I took my partner here for his birthday dinner. He loved everything he had; I unfortunately did not. His seafood dish was great as was his gazpacho. I had pieces of beef , I do forget the exact name, with some sort of squash puree. The meat was tough even though it was medium; the puree had hard seeds that... More
