Locally inspired cuisine set in a casual bistro atmosphere. Chef Nicholas Cassettari combines his classic training, top tier experience, and world travels with the best of B.C.'S bounty to create the fine flavours at Alta Bistro. Service is casual and prompt in the dining room and bar. The wine list is French focused, with the best of B.C. As well as international selections (many by the glass) with Enomatic machines dispensing fine and eclectic selections to pair with Alta's cuisine. Mixologists behind our bar craft some of Whistler's finest cocktails. The cozy bistro atmosphere is lively and welcoming. Reservations are a must.

Best food in Whistler

I have been everywhere in Whistler, the food here is hands down the highest quality in town. The staff is knowledgable , they could tell you where every part of each dish is sourced from, sustainable, and the best flavours in town. The staff clearly loves where they live, and exude the right... read more

We had reservations but there were only 6 other tables there this evening. Our server was just OK. We shared the summer salad and scallop starters and they were tasty. We both ordered the salmon entree and it was good but not outstanding. It is disappointing that they charge $5 for water but do not tell you. Our waiter brought... More

he restaurant wasn't very busy the night we went. We sat outside. The cocktails and meal were good, but for some reason I didn't LOVE the restaurant. Try the foie gras doughnut appetizer if they have the special available. I had the eggplant on the regular menu and it was tasty.

We started with the cheese board, which contained many delicious cheeses: the best cheddar, I have ever tasted, along with yummy blue, brie, and triple cream, accompanied by quince, apple, and walnuts, apple butter and Lavash bread (thin, wafer crisp chips). The real stars were the entrees. The smoked, Fraser Valley pork belly was crispy on the outside, melt in... More

Family of four dined here. The menu is limited which we think is usually a good think because the chef is concentrating on a small number of dishes. I had a scallop start and beef main. It all came out well cooked but did not reach the heights of some other places in Whistler we had eaten. My wife is... More

This place was an unexpected treat. The food was amazing we ordered the special and it was amazing...steak cooked to perfection. The cocktails were some of the best I have ever had..everything was fresh..including fresh pressed cranberries for the vodka cranberry soda I had. I highly recommeed the drink called the Truth. It was delicious!

Restaurant was recommended by staff at the resort so we walked over to take a look during the afternoon. The restaurant looked very nice with ample outside seating and the manager (might have been owner, not sure) came out to say hi and encourage us to come back. We looked at the menu and it looked good so we made... More

Alta Bistro is a very cool bistro in Whistler village. Food is unreal, the chef team is super talented and source everything as local as possible which means it's super fresh and the flavours are mind blowing, their menu constantly changes with what's available, if there's pork (any kind) on the menu don't kid yourself, do it you won't regret... A new menu another visit. This is the one restaurant in Whistler that has never failed to deliver...every time. Simple surroundings, great staff, taste and texture. It delivers. They dont have an extensive drinks and wine list, but they dont sting you on drinks and wine prices unlike others. If you want an amazing dinner, without the pretension of other... More
