We have eaten at Alta Bistro. In our opinion, the food is nothing short of amazing! The menu offers dishes that I've never send or even heard of. We had the Elk Tartar and Red Snapper with curry squid ink which was prepared to perfection and a real treat for our taste buds. Our waiter was super helpful and attentive.... More

My daughter and I were up in Whistler and I had a voucher for this restaurant and made reservations. Most places I've eaten at are average. But this restaurant had one of the most amazing menu's with wonderful presentation with even better flavour. A must when we go back next year. Awesome, 5 STARS

Didn't have a great first impression when we arrived. Atmosphere was fine, but not real cozy. Menu somewhat limited. Then the food came. My elk tartar was very good, but my wife's pork belly and sweetbread was outstanding!! Then we split the snapper and it was excellent. Service (Ted) was warm and friendly, could not have been better. We left... More

Sadly Alta has moved away from its roots, a bistro, serving simple innovative food. It is now expensive and all the dishes bear some resemblance. Importantly, it is not a restaurant serving moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting. Bistros are usually defined by the foods they serve. French home-style cooking, or slow-cooked foods like cassoulet. Alta does not... More

The space is bigger now (renos are recent) and the food is just as terrific as we remembered. My husband & I returned to Whistler this summer and made a point of having dinner at this wonderful restaurant. There are more tables, but it's still warm and inviting. Service was/still is exceptional. And, the food - oh my. We decided... More

We had never heard of this restaurant when we purchased dinner vouchers from TravelZoo. To say we were pleasantly surprised was an understatement. The staff team are amazing, welcoming, friendly and knowledgable about their dishes. The pork belly appetizer is sooo good. The freshness of their foods wow we will definitely be coming back

The blend of flavours and originality of the dishes was a real treat. We happened upon Alta by chance - normally we do research but we arrived late following a road trip from Clearwater and stumbled upon Alta. For starter I had a tuna special which was seared on one side and served upon potato salad, creme fresh and a... More

Setting is lovely and the food is wonderful but a bit pricey. Menu provides for interesting choices & trends to using local products. Service good making it a wonderful place to have a special dinner.

If you are planning a visit to Whistler put this restaurant at the top of your list. Chef Nicholas cooks innovative, well balanced food using imaginative combinations. Our favourite was elk tartare with duck liver - superb. The pork belly was up there too. Service excellent and a nice selective wine list. Definite value we thought.
