Known for fresh home grown ingredients and home cooking. Limited seating in cool weather, a lovely outdoor garden patio on warm days. Dieters beware! Cakes, cookies and fabulous homemade pies and fresh baked bread and buns assault your senses as you enter. Eat in or take out.

This place has a great atmosphere, with a beautiful outdoor seating area. There are plenty of homemade treats for purchase and I have never been disappointed by the food! Fantastic home cooked meals each time, with agreeable prices. Every time I go in they are always busy! The girls at the counter are always so sweet and helpful. This place... More

I totally agree with other reviewers about the nice country setting and the cosy atmosphere! I also understand that this establishment is under new ownership as of late 2014. I will also simply state the black and white of our experience. Each of us ordered a bowl of borscht with scones, $5 each. We then ordered a Reuben sandwich to... More

I have heard reports that Friesen's has been put on the market. Perhaps this establishment will eventually become different in style. It has a keen following for its current format. I have visited for breakfast twice, with a family group, and found the dining room lively and busy both times. The overall warm atmosphere of Friesen's is created by the... More

We had a delicious lunch here outside on the patio with overhanging plants and flowers- although we also had humming birds on a previous visit but none this time.We had lovely light and fluffy (and enormous) blueberry pancakes. There is also a good choice of homebaked goods.

We were a group of 10 and arrived at the busy lunch time service. I think our large party put the kitchen under pressure as we were waiting over 40 minutes for our order. By the time the food arrived we were extremely hunger after coming straight from a 90min hike around the lake. The food however did make up... More

We often go to friesens for a coffee with baked goods. It is a great place to spend a warm afternoon! The place is cosy and friendly. They have a good selection of baked goods. The back patio is a little oasis of calm. You don't feel rushed, and you can bring home some baked items, jams, or fresh fruit.... More
