Deep fried perogies and farmers sausage (the real stuff). Need I say more? Ofay, I guess I have to. I'm sure the rest of the brunch food was good....but...deep fries perogies????? Yes!!!!
We travel to the OK every year. Every year we have brunch at Friesen's. Every year the it changes for the worse. Kids brunch is like $12 if you are 11 yr old hulking boy or a 4 yr old petite girl. They previously charged children $1 per year of age. Quite reasonable. They previously had eggs Benedict on the... More
We were taking a day trip around the top of Lake Okanagan from Kelowna and had planned on having lunch in or around Vernon, so I looked through various reviews in TA. Friesens sounded interesting and not far off teh direct route from Vernon to Kelowna, so we decided to give it a try. We were very happy with food,... More
This is a fabulous restaurant for old fashioned cooking by mom! The food is excellent. We really enjoy the patio, so inviting. The only negative things I can say is that the bathrooms need updating and the outdoor cooking area with the bar-b-que needs a good clean/scrub down very badly. Grease and cobwebs, not so inviting. I hope the owners... More
Old time breakfast! Homemade bread, jam, etc. not greasy healthy feeling breakfast. Will make an effort to come back here next time we are near.
We spend 3 or 4 visits each year in Vernon and make a breakfast at Friesen's a must. We love the garden and the food is always fresh, well prepared and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. We leave with more treats--homemade soups, jams and breads. The washroom could use a little updating but it's clean.
I come to Vernon at least once a year and having lunch at Friesen's is always #1 on my priority list. Their food is the epitome of fresh and homebaked. The sandwich breads and scones are delicious and filling. (Just a soup and a scone will fill you up in no time!) Their breakfast and lunch items are consistently great,... More
A great place with a fantastic atmosphere. All the food is fresh made- some menu items were unavailable because the fruit/food was not in season. Everything was fantastic but be aware that especially on weekends it isn't a quick process.
Once just a fruit stand and now a local favourite for breakfast and lunch, featuring in-house baking and local fruits and veggies. Pyrogies, borscht, and Mennonite sausage, are menu staples. As soon as weather permits (often by early March until late October), tables are out on the patio, surrounded by orchard. Orders are taken as you enter, and brought to... More
