Description: Welcome to the Irish Times Pub, where excellent design and authenticity...
Welcome to the Irish Times Pub, where excellent design and authenticity are at the heart of downtown Victoria"s most exciting new pub! Located at 1200 Government Street, the Irish Times Pub is home to 190 seats over two floors with 80 seats available on our patios, opening onto both Government Street and historic Bastion Square. Our concept goes far beyond mere architecture though. The Irish Times opened with everything it takes to make a pub successfully Irish, including authentic Live Irish music, 7 nights each week. The tradition of Ireland has also been extended to our menu, which has been developed on a philosophy of creating traditional Irish food and drink that is both contemporary and funky, showcasing Irish Pub Food as you would see in Ireland today.

Good food & service

Pleasant interior, friendly service and good food and beer. We shared a bowl of crab soup and a corn beef sandwich and fries which were delicious. It was a moderately priced restaurant.

I'm never disappointed at the Irish Times. On this visit I had their Green Salad with Wild Salmon, which included blue cheese, garbanzo beans, beets, pumpkin seeds, cherry tomatoes and more. Delicious flavours, great fresh texture and not drowned in dressing. I washed it down with a pint of Hoyne's Dark Matter, which is a stout beer brewed by one... More

We stopped in to the Irish Times Pub for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. We ate at an outside table on a beautiful day, watching the comings and goings in Victoria. We had fish-and-chips and Irish Stew, both of which were excellent, accompanied by their Robert Service ale. The restaurant is located on an historic corner, dating back to when criminals... More

Absolutely beautiful place. Immaculate. Food was very good. Lamb burger was delish. Prices were fairly reasonable. Lots of beers on tap. Service was great.

Victoria has a lot of pubs. There are quite a few near the harbour. This one has a varied menu. I believe we had fish and chips. They were quite good. The ambiance is typical of a higher end pub.

Our group of 8 enjoyed a lively evening of delicious food and beverages while visiting and listening to toe-tapping live music. Fish and chips are served in huge portions. Batter is a bit thicker than we like, but the fish was fresh and flavorful. The sampler platter is heaped with scrumptious calamari, chicken wings, dry ribs, sweet potato fries and... More

We were unimpressed with The Irish Times Pub. It's a beautiful building and the restaurant itself is nice, but there were very limited beer choices and the options for food left us deciding to go elsewhere to eat lunch after having just one drink.

After wearing ourselves out shopping, we decided to stop for a light lunch. We both had the salad greens which had all kinds of wonderful surprises in it. I am someone who ALWAYS puts a hearty creamy dressing on my salad. Fortunately, my dressing was served on the side, because when the salad came it looked so yummy I decided... More

Food and beverage choices were really good. Location is central to much of the marina/wharf. We went straight to this location from BC WHALE Watching (5 minutes or less on foot). I would give it a 5 but the service was a touch slow and as with most travelers we had much to see and waiting for a check or... More
