Description: Welcome to the Irish Times Pub, where excellent design and authenticity are at the heart of downtown Victoria"s most exciting new pub! Located at 1200 Government Street, the Irish Times Pub is home to 190 seats over two floors with 80 seats available on our patios, opening onto both Government Street and historic Bastion Square. Our concept goes far beyond mere architecture though. The Irish Times opened with everything it takes to make a pub successfully Irish, including authentic Live Irish music, 7 nights each week. The tradition of Ireland has also been extended to our menu, which has been developed on a philosophy of creating traditional Irish food and drink that is both contemporary and funky, showcasing Irish Pub Food as you would see in Ireland today.

This is a great pub; we ate both outside and inside. The Shepherd's pie is simply perfect in every way. Also enjoyed a scottish egg, a few pints of Guinness and the cabbage and corned beef. A great menu, beautiful woodwork, great service - can't wait to return.

We were in Victoria for the weekend, we walked around the downtown area and looked at a number of restaurant menus, this one appealed to both of us. I had the lamb burger with a cup of the soup of the day, my husband had the fish and chips. We both thought our meals were great. Great atmosphere and beautiful... More

We came in for an enjoyable meal and a pint. They serve Kilkenny, which we haven't been able to find in the States, so this was a special treat.

Stopped by while walking around Victoria and were pleasantly surprised. Cool building, nice staff, and beer for $5.00 ("new" Happy Hour!!) WooHoo!! We even ordered a pizza off the appetizer menu and it was pretty good. A bit pricy, but so's everything in Victoria! In answer to the obvious question, I can only say that, why we ordered a pizza... Have had lunch a few times and find that the food is good. We have sat at the outside tables when the weather is nice and also inside for lunch. The atmosphere and food are good. The service varies. Fish and chips is always a good choice. Have had the pulled pork and macaroni/cheese - both decent lunches. Thought the... More

It has been a year or so since I have been able to get back to one of my favourite pubs. I use to go for lunch quite a lot in the past. My friend and I decided to go there and sit outside and have lunch. I was surprised how the menu has shrunken since my last visit. I... More

We were quickly seated on a Friday evening. We had the pulled pork and Irish Stew. The waitress could not give us any good suggestions, except the Irish Stew. It was very average, could have come from a can. The food was ok. The Chocolate Brownie dessert was probably the only remarkable thing we had. But the service was the... More

Had a very late meal there when most eating places were closed. Ordered a beer from the tap and a pizza and a chowder soup. I was surprised that the pizza was pretty good for an Irish restaurant; the chowder had a good mix of seafoods. The service was ok. There was a band performing Irish folk songs at the... More
