We were staying in Fernwood and Stage was recommended, just a short walk away. Made very welcome from the get go. The atmosphere buzzing on a Tuesday night. We loved all our courses, really appreciated the extra touches. It was a highlight of our visit to Vancouver Island. Thank you from 3 Aussies.

Stage will not disappoint. The owner greeted us at the door and throughout the the night he did the same with everyone who arrived! The food was so good, we wanted to try everything. The charcuterie was excellent, and the gnocchi was the best that I've had. The fried potato bread looked dreamy but I had no room (I will... More

We took the advice of other Tripadvisor reviewers and made the twenty minute walk from our apartment through the interesting suburbs to Stage and we were not at all disappointed. A beautiful small plates meal, with interesting wines, and outstanding service (and yes, the friendly owner, too!). It was a Thursday night and we arrived early based on comments about... More

From retro cocktails to fine wines, to very, very well prepared small plates, Stage is a memorable dining experience. It is described as trendy, but it is friendly as well, and this, along with the quality of food sets it apart from other upscale eateries. You are made to feel welcome from when you walk in the door to when... More

We were recommended here by one of the staff in our hotel in Oak Bay. We ended up at Stage on two of our four nights in Victoria, it was SO good. We tried the lamb merguez sausage, the fried brussels, the edamame with garlic and chilli, the Sooke trout, the duck confit, the seared scallop risotto, the cider glazed... More

We enjoyed our dinner here but, frankly, have had much better small plate dinners elsewhere. That said, the olives were REALLY tasty, and we liked having the opportunity to taste so many local wines by the glass. We also enjoyed the an octopus special and the duck confit. Homemade pork sausage with a pierogi was just ordinary, however the pierogi... More

I can't say enough good things about this place. The service is excellent, the bartender awesome and the owner even comes and says hello. I love the wine list, all of which can be ordered by the glass and the small plates are excellent. My personal favourite is their roasted/fried? brussel sprouts. Who would have thought they could taste so... More

We hiked from Downtown Victoria in search of great BC wines by the glass and creative small plates. Homemade sausage, in house smoked duck pastrami, handmade gnocchi...we couldn't say no. Very helpful and friendly staff, hip decor and well worth the walk from the harbour. Go!

The concept of sharing small plates of different dishes means that you can taste most of the menu! The wine list is very comprehensive, with a wide choice of BC, and farther afield wines. The fried Haloumi cheese is, nice and salty , the mussels in curry coconut cream are divine, and the pork belly is decadent with a sweet,... More

Stage was recommended to us by our innkeeper at Abbeymoore Manor who knows we are foodies and enjoy good wines. Everything about this resto was fantastic except the noise level — we were quite unable to carry on a normal conversation, which for us is an essential part of good dining. The cellar here is impressive, with something for everyone... More
