Just as it was 25 years ago. This place is a must for your trip to Victoria to be complete. Get there early as there is often a line up of locals.

Breakfast is all they serve at Johns Place on Sunday's from 8 am to 4 pm. Huge menu of items to delight your taste buds however, we would recommend the Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries or any one of a huge variety of eggs benny with a side of old style corned beef hash. The waffles come with cream cheese... More

Stopped for lunch on Monday before leaving Victoria from a long weekend vacation. We were seated right away with no reservations, even though the restaurant was quite busy. They brought us hot bread and butter while we waited for our food - a nice touch. My wife had fish & chips, and I had the chicken club. Food was served... More

Arrived on a Saturday at 1pm to a jam-packed restaurant which gave it a nice atmosphere (booking essential). I had perused the menu on-line and was looking forward to an Albacore tuna salad, only to be told that they serve breakfast all day on the week-ends (predominantly eggs!) Needless to say, the eggs were very good and my company all... More

When we were on the Victoria Clipper en route to Victoria, BC, I asked a fellow with epaulettes if he had any restaurant recommendations, and this is one of the places he recommended. It opens at 7 am and we made a reservation for 7:30 am. We learned that we probably didn't need to make reservations because there were plenty... More

Always packed, this eatery delivers consistently top notch food and the service staff really care about their tables. Diverse menu, excellent soup( which may be bottomless) and that bread to die for. John's Place has kept their endearing formula for over 30 years- they don't mess with a winning situation. Prices have kept reasonable and this compensates for the fact... More

If you're looking for great, friendly service, ambiance and great food, this is the place for you. Prices are comparable to other restaurants. I really like corned-beef hash and this is the only place I have found in Victoria that serves it. The "Bennies" are also very good. And. no matter what you order, the portions are plentiful If you... More

My wife and I visited Victoria recently and had an opportunity to stop into John's Place for breakfast. I had the "Ragin' Vegan Burrito" (no, I'm not a vegetarian) and my wife had the "Nature's Granola". Both dishes were fantastic! Large portions, well presented, and served by the most friendly and enthusiastic staff we've experienced for a long time. Breakfast... More

Everything we had here was delicious. I'd recommend getting the eggs benedict, the home fries, and a side of gravy. The eggs benedict had a wonderful hollandaise. It was different but very flavorful. The home fries were nothing special, but I tried some of their delicious gravy (my husband had ordered it with his fries) on them and it was... More
