This place is full of character wit memorabilia, photos & posters. much collected by John's journey from California to Vancouver Island many years ago.Such cheerful staff most having worked here for 20+ years...family run as noted in photos. Deb is great, always bubbly, smiling & willing to please everyone. It's like one big happy family where diners are made to... More

Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food! I could easily have this place be a regular breakfast joint.. if it wasn't over a days worth of travel just to get there! Love the classic diner vibe.

beautiful diner. Hot strong coffee, fresh eggs, fluffy pancakes, what else is needed for a classic diner? don't bother with breakfast anywhere else on the island. period.

Loved the feeling of this place with its pictures covering the walls and old duke box playing wonderful old tunes! We got a very warm welcome from the waitress, an excellent choice on the menu and the food was delicious!

My husband and I learned of John's Place Restaurant from a local when we were looking for breakfast. We were warmly welcomed and seated. The seating is close together, but that didn't bother us. The atmosphere is fun and the breakfast was extremely good. The breakfast menu had lots of choices. Service was good. I would definitely go back if... More

It is always busy, but a wait for a table is never long, the service is always fast, polite and friendly. John's is known for their Eggs Benny but everything... More

The walls of Johns Place are covered in signed photographs of film and sports stars. Gazing upon some these caused a stream dod conversation while we waited for our food. I had the daily special of halibut and chips etc. Oh my giddy aunt, have the portion would have been suffice. I had no hope of trying any of the... More

I love the atmosphere at John's Place. I love that I haven't been there in fourteen years and there are still staff that worked there from when I went to university. I love the French toast (although I miss the blackberry cream cheese option) and they have the best Eggs Benny I have ever tasted and I have tasted a... More

We heard a lot of great things about JohnS Place but we left kinda disappointed. We had breakfast - usual stuff and it was simply ok. The sausages were like something i can get at any cafe - i had hoped for more substance and flavour. We'll have to try lunch or dinner when we're back in Victoria again ...... More
