The staff are extremley friendly and efficient, and the food was amazing. The breads were freshly baked day of. We were in Victoria for 3 days, and we ate here all three days in a row. The menu is huge and lots to choose from. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend eating here.

John's Place has a good vibe and great service. It's a tight fit so you better not mind getting cozy with your neighbour, but that doesn't seem to bother anyone. The servers are super friendly and attentive. The waffles are ridiculously light, fluffy,and delicious. Don't miss the cream cheese syrup, it may sound odd, but it tastes anything but.

Great location in downtown Victoria. Gluten free options right on the regular menu. Easy going on substitutions. Don't you love a service staff that 1. Knows what's actually in the food they're serving l, and 2. Helpful when it comes to making reasonable substitutions.

Best place to go in Victoria for breakfast. Portions are large and price is reasonable. The experience at John's is even made better by the staff, Liz (server) and Rodney (manager). We have recommended John's Place to our visitors when they come to Victoria and have had nothing but positive comments back.

Great wholesome food, good servings and excellent service. Have been going to this place for years. Lineups on the weekend mornings so go early or be prepared to lineup on the street. This restaurant was walking distance from our hotel. Staff were great and friendly...after I ordered the meatball from their menu but didn't liked it...they immediately offered to change it to another entree of my choice, and was never charged for both!:)

Great ambience and decor... diner style booths, baseball memorabilia, friendly service, a Victoria institution. Plus they take reservations for brunch so no need to queue. Food is only ok: all the classics are available from a wide selection of eggs benny to huevos rancheros and waffles. Strawberry smoothie was very good. IMO though there is better brunch to be had... I have always loved Johns Place even when I lived in Victoria. Coming back as a tourist it was even more of a revelation. Great selection of food funky retro-style interior with a juke box.
