A friend and I met at the White Heather Tea Room at 10:00 a.m. We were asked if we had a reservation, and we said "no". (The last time I was there at that time of day it wasn't that busy, so we didn't think to make a reservation in advance). The waitress informed us that they were fully booked... More

We decided we wanted to try afternoon tea but didn't want to pay as much as the big name tea place in Victoria, and found this quaint little tea shop to try. We were very glad we did as the food was awesome and the service was good too.

We had tea here today and it was the best tea room experience ever. Do not waste your time and money at Empress. The staff was so courteous and the Not So Wee Tea was to die for! I also had the Mad Hatter Tea. It was so good I bought a package to take home. I wish I could... More

We made reservations 2 weeks in advance, hearing that it fills up very quickly and they promptly close the doors at 5pm. The tea room is comfortable and unpretentious (unlike the Fairmont Empress). It is decorated in sea foam colours with pretty tea cosy and teapots of every colour and size. Service was quick, friendly and welcoming. Our server Carrie... More

My wife has years of experience with Tea but this was my first exposure. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction! The place is cozy but comfortable. The staff is friendly and happy to answer questions. The overall vibe was family, friendly and positive...almost festive. And I thought the food was delcious and the portions generous. Later in the... More

We were seated promptly and had wonderful service. The white tablecloths were welcome, as we wanted to experience the proper high tea, without the expense of the Empress. The two of us ate for the price of one at the Empress and the food was most ample, yummy and fresh. Their shortcake was wonderful! The sandwiches were freshly made and... More

Delicious tea, amazing food, wonderful service. A grand time had by all. I especially enjoyed the warm scones with lemon curd.

High tea depends on so many things - but if it is the quality of the food you are looking for, then I think the White Heather Tea Room has a delicious food selection. I always have the Not So Wee Tea, but others have chosen from the a la carte menu and it was great. The room is bright... More

We were told by someone to not do tea at the Empress and instead go to Oak Bay and try the White Heather for afternoon tea. We were so happy with the food (especially the Big Muckle) and the excellent English-style service.

The White Heather Tea Room is a 'must' to visit in Victoria BC. It is particularly popular with chinese and other visitors. The service is excellent and a good choice of teas and buns are available.
