First of all, we had a reservation of over 20 people. Santiago Cafe boasts an eclectic ambiance and has a menu selection that fits the ambience. The staff were friendly and the food was good (lacked seasoning on the Paella). The only reason I did not give a higher overall rating was because, we... read more

Happened upon Santiago's café by accident and had such a great meal we returned again the next day. Loved the Red Curry Chicken and Adobo Beef. Deep fried cheesecake was an amazing hit (no kidding!). Great staff, very friendly & quick competent service.

The decor was fun and attracted us to this restaurant just down the road from hotel. The food wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. The service was rather slow, but friendly.

we only stopped in for drinks, but this is a very nice little place. The food we saw served to other people looked very good with large portions. The local beer that I had was excellent.

My wife and I have lived in Victoria for many years and out of the blue she decided to try this place. We were both quite excited and really looking forward to this. She decided to have the beans and rice meal at $12.95. It looked terrible and tasted much worse. It was a bowl of rice mixed with black... More

We were looking for a more local taste of food preparation than we would have at our hotel restaurant. Santiagos was a block away, not busy at the time and looked to fit our needs. We had the grilled halibut sandwich which came with fresh tortilla chips and salsa. We also had a very tasty house salad. The only complaint... More

Went to this Restaurant for dinner with friends. No booking, we just rocked up. Despite that we were warmly greeted and made welcome. The meal was excellent and very fairly priced. The service commendable. Big benefit it was only a few minutes walk from our hotel.

I couldn't believe my eyes... walking by this place the other day and witnessed a large golden-coloured dog come out of a side door of the restaurant and proceed to attack two other dogs that were just walking by (on-leash). The owner of the attacking dog did nothing but call the offending dog back. What the heck is a dog... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the ambience at Santiagos. The service was excellent; however, for some reason the owner 'Kim' seemed grumpy and was quite rude to my guests who were on vacation from overseas. I tried smiling at her but she was unbelievably cold. It must be a race bias.

We ate here twice while staying at a nearby hotel. My wife enjoyed an excellent large bowel of black bean soup but returned her 1st garden salad for excessive brown greens (only a few in 2nd salad). I had a thai chicken dish with rice that I really enjoyed. We went another night and I tried the red curry chicken... More
