A perfect weekend for us includes a meal at Rebar. It is funky and delicious. The food couldn't be fresher or more inventive. They have expanded from the usual vegetarian fare to include some fresh fish from "Finest At Sea"- salmon, tuna- smoked naturally and caught in an ethical way. One always feels like their body and micronutrients got revitalized... More

This is a small restaurant a few blocks from the Empress Hotel. I believe they take reservations and they were crowded on a Saturday night in May. We went because my daughter is a vegetarian. I thought the food was tasty and healthy. We all liked the salad sampler plate. The Nachos with beans were good. Portions are large...

The almond burger was substantial but quite dry....the salad was good. My friend tried a fusion dish which was just ok...monk curry...it was not attractively presented. The corn soup was very good as was the cornbread. All in all average.....and I assume healthy. The wine was very good...BC Pinot Noir.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars. The desserts make your mouth water just thinking about them. The healthy veggie or fruit juices are sophisticated and delicious. The meals are inventive and tasty. The downside is we waited nearly 5 minutes to be seated (despite several available tables)-it seemed the staff was overwhelmed. It took a while for... More

Earlier this week (weekday in April) four of us had lunch at the Rebar (a first time there for me.) On one hand it is an upscale health diner and on the other a funky cafe - our dishes were all nice but we wished they would have been tweaked a bit: the fresh tomato soup was a bit bland... More

If you've eaten elsewhere (and don't get me wrong, Rebar is good at all things it does) you must save room for Rebar desserts. There are two pies, four cakes, four tarts, two brownies, cookies, and I don't know what all else to choose from, all made by Cascadia Bakery (sister company to Rebar), and all delicious. I live in... More

The whole family easily found something to tempt them on the menu, even though the kids menu wasn't your standard offering and I was initially a bit worried they'd turn their noses up. The food was delicious, the atmosphere and service were great. We were with a group and everybody loved what they ordered.

My wife and I go here a lot, it is expensive, but the food, service is excellent, as a matter of fact I have been going to this restaurant for about 20 years, never once had a disappointment, other than when we get the check, it always seems a little on the high side, but that does not stop us... Whenever we need a nice boost of healthful food and drink we head to Rebar. Portions are generous, blended juices are awesome and it's a guilt free eating out experience.
