I have eaten only a few times at Café Brio because while others seem to like this place it never ceases to disappoint me. I had soup and a duck combo. I love duck and have eaten it all over the world and often cook it at home. But here the breast was tough and the terrine of fois gras... More

We made our dinner reservation 11 days in advance and requested a booth, but when we arrived at the restaurant we were seated at the very back by the kitchen entrance and bussing station. As it was a Saturday night the place was full and very noisy. Our friends, who had been there before, said it was still better than... More

This was the best meal I've had in any restaurant so far in 2013. The food was phenomenal! You can order a 1/2 portion or whole portion - what a great idea! This restaurant is located in an old house and is very charming. The waitress was very friendly, but also professional. Everything was perfect and I'd love to go... More

Brio has a nice atmosphere and after our visit last May which was very disappointing we decided to go back after a gallery opening. The service was slightly better a year later - friendly and accommodating but at a 40+ minute wait for the entrée it was slow given the restaurant was less than half full. Fresh baked bread served... Had a delicious dinner with friends. Our last minute party was fit in on a quieter evening and we enjoyed the service as well as the food.

Every aspect of the dining experience was wonderful. To make a reservation by phone I had to leave a message. The response was prompt and very accommodating to our request. The reception by the host was very welcoming. The ambiance is contemporary and pleasing. Tables are well spaced apart. Service was prompt, waitress knowledgable about the menu and specials, staff... Went here after all the glowing reviews on this site, biggest disappointment of my entire trip! There are so many superior restaurants in Victoria. Food - mediocre, tiny portions, tasteless, lack of sauces or flavour, my breast of chicken was so dry and over-cooked I didn't know what to do with it. It was also the size of a small... More

We visited this restaurant based on positive reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. The food was fresh, tasty and elegently presented. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are attentive. This is worth a visit. Dinner with wine for four people including dessert and tip cane to about $50 per person.

We asked in our hotel for a small local restaurant for an early dinner. Just 4-5 blocks from the inner harbor. Italian food served hot and plentiful. Great wine selections and desserts. Our server must have been having an off night because she wasn't very talky or friendly, and had to be reminded of breads we ordered or the extra... More

This is the only restaurant we have found in our travels that offered its menu in half portions. The main fish dish we selected was nicely presented, combinations interesting and tasty. The desert fell short ... creme brulee .. nothing special. There is a nice wine list to choose from and the owner-host is very interesting to talk to.
