Great traditional french food. Wonderful service and nice wine selection. Good value for the money. Definitely worth your time and the short walk from downtown

Great food but the fact they do not accept reservations means we will never go back as the line ups were ridiculous.

Went on a Tuesday....stood in line at 5...got a table when it opened at 5:30....food was alright...tasted better french onion soup...was very bland. Was just a steak swimming in it's juices with a round circle of herb butter & a bowel of fancy french fries seasoned with cheese and herbs. Seating was old hard wooden chairs...not the most comfortable. Very... More

Steak-Frites joints abound in Quebec and parts of France. But to run into a really good one in Victoria is perhaps a surprise. Brasserie is always good. Slight changes to the dependable menu are made to maximize local produce. But there's always a good steak special, local fish and phenomenal frites - our favourite is tossed in parsley, garlic, parmesan... More

This was my first dining experience at Brasserie L'ecole. I stood forth in line at 4:50pm for the 5:30pm seating. It was February and the sleet was coming in sideways. I thought I was getting hypothermic. I have to say, it was all worth it. One of the best duck confit I have ever experienced. Perfection. It was all perfection.... More

L'ecole has a very nice casual french brasserie ambiance and seems to be very popular with the locals which is always a good sign. After numerous enthusiastic recommendations we scurried over to L'ecole on a Tuesday evening to wait in line...no reservations. We arrived at 5:00...and were seated when they opened at 5:30...by 5:45 the tables were filled. They do... More

We were staying in Victoria for the evening and my wife found this great restaurant. They don't take reservations but they took our cell number and gave us a ring when the table was ready. It was well worth the wait. The staff were nice and the food was fantastic. You feel like you're in Europe. Nice evening all around.... More

My husband and I were given a gift certificate to Brasserie L'ecole. We are Victorians, but had never been to this restaurant. We arrived about 5:15 pm, and the lineup was already building. We got in just fine when the restaurant opened at 5:30 pm, and were shown to a very nice table towards the back. The restaurant filled up... More

This was our favourite restaurant in Victoria. We have been there a dozen times in the last two years. The menu has hardly changed, even though it is promoted as being changed daily. It was worth standing inline at 5:15 until it opened at 5:30. Never again! No more! The steak I ordered last week was poor. My wife ordered... More

We went here on the highest recommendation of a well known local business owner. Since the restaurant doesn't accept reservations, we arrived prior to its early evening opening. It took fifteen minutes before someone came to take our order. After placing our order, we sat for an hour and a half wondering why there was such a long wait for... More
