A French treat

Genuine bistro atmosphere in the heart of Victoria. Food is definitely above average and the salads are outstanding. Service is very good and the beer and wine selection are excellent. Try the duck confit and the frites are out of this world

Went for my boyfriend's 40th birthday and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic, he's a chef and impossible to impress. The only thing I didn't like is they don't take reservations, lucky for us we went on a Tuesday night and while we were told it would be about a 30 minute wait it was only about 5!... More

The place that had been recommended to us was closed for a private party, so we were directed to L'ecole. Outstanding! We did go to the original place the next night, and it was a letdown, especially after the incredible dinner we had at L'ecole. Their menu changes daily, so looking online just now didn't help to jog my memory... More

The tables were quickly filled at opening time (5:30 I believe) which seems a bit early for dinner. If you want a table but want to dine at a more reasonable time, I suspect you will need to wait. We walked in at 7:30 and were seated right away at the bar which was perfect. The food was top-notch, prepared... More

Amazing food and service. The steak was fantastic. We highly recommend this restaurant! There are no reservations but we were able to get a table and did not have to wait.

This is a no reservation joint. Get there when the doors open or you'll be waiting for hours. Once we were seated it took about an hour to receive our entrees. The bartender is a brilliant man. Excellent suggestion of Belgian beers. The atmosphere even reminded me a little of eating in Brussels. The drinks were good, the frites were... More

You know that moment in Ratatouille where the guy is transported back to his childhood after a bite, that's what happened to me in the best way possible. Traditional food done incredibly well - purely good ingredients and well put together. So so good.

Between these two guys, the food and service is the best it could be. Over more than a decade, it has earned it's stripes. Try to save room for the crepe Suzette...always money well spent!

Definitely need to be there half hour before they open, no reservation needed, first come first serve. Small quaint restaurant with excellent food, wine and service. Great Duck dish and other French type of food preparation.

Brasserie is so consistent. The service is excellent and the knowledge about the food and wine is always spot on. It's attentive and friendly without being overly pushy. The food is always cooked as ordered. The salad with apples, nuts, arugula is perfection - always fresh with the precise amount of dressing. The steak, trout and pork are standouts. The... More
