I try to get to Brasserie l'école whenever I am in Victoria. The food is always fantastic, the wine list is great, and the service is terrific. I'm often traveling on my own, and long ago got over my discomfort in eating alone. But here, dining at the bar 'alone' always turns out to be a memorable, enjoyable experience, sometimes... More

2014, and L'ecole has been here for 15 years, and we have visited it almost every year during that time and some years several times This is the quintessential french bistro, small, intimate, a simple menu, great wine list and an even better bar. In fact dinner at the bar can be a good experience. so the food: the standards... More

I finally made it to Brasserie L'Ecole and it meets the mark of its reputation. Good food, good wine list, good service. No reservations which is nuts. We lined up and got a table. The restaurant is very dark. The menu is remarkably missing anything vegetarian. So not west coast. All in all, 8/10.

When there are five people in a party, there is always the chance that someone will be disappointed in their meal. Not so at L'Ecole. We came on a recommendation of a local who said this was the best and he was right! We all had something different and we were all completely satisfied! Good portion size, good value, good... More

I can't say anymore than everyone else has but what I love most about Brasserie is that you can share anything you want on the menu. The wonderful staff will happily portion your order into 2 servings - there's no extra charge. This means my husband and I can try more items on the menu - endive salad, mussels, burger,... More

This is a wonderful place with excellent food, good wine list and a caring and personable staff. It is brasserie food prepared as it should be with love and dedication. Don't miss!

Table for six a little difficult to get as this restaurant doesn't take reservations. Judging by the lineup at 5pm, (open at 5:30) they don't need too! We ended up with a nice corner table. Service and decor very good. Value as expected for this calibre of eatery. Overall an excellent experience.

This is my top pick of restaurants in Victoria. If I ever want to have a great meal, and have a nice quiet romantic time, I come here. The wine list is interesting and great, the dishes are near-perfect, and the space just feels right. If they have it- get the Skate Wing (I haven't had it for a while).... More

Great food and impeccable service. Among the best restaurants I've visited in recent months. Full score! Show up early! Many guests. They don't take reservations.
