Best steak in Victoria

Wonderful, small, intimate restaurant. Probably the best restaurant in Victoria. Staff is friendly and give excellent service. This hadn't been a first choice for us to go for dinner but the couple we were meeting insisted we try it. So glad we did, we went right about 5:30 and it was packed. So off we went for cocktails till they called us at 7 that a table was ready. This is a very small intimate place, no... More

Travelling on business so 1st time for me. Given that I like Belgian beers, this was the place for me! Sat at the bar and had a Tripel and Quadrupel. Chat with the bartender Adam and he will recommend the right beer for you. Service friendly and prompt and food was pretty good, especially the fiddleheads. Steak may have been... More

OK - So what makes a really good restaurant. Is it delicious food, good service, ambience or perhaps a smattering of all these things? My wife and I along with our daughter tried Brasserie for the first time last Friday evening. No reservations are taken so we dutifully stood in line and got in with no problem. We did arrive... Had dinner here last night and it was just like visiting with friends. There's such a pleasant vibe here with Amie, Sterling and Marc that we immediately relax and look forward to not only unbeatable service, but the much valued time to reconnect with each other. Started with the endive salad which I hope never, ever leaves the menu!! Enjoyed... More

Great food, wine and service. Will most certainly come again and highly recommend. Pity you can't book if only to take the hassle out of whether you can get a table.

Brasserie L'ecole meets the expectation of its name. It is truly an informal (albeit slightly noisy), reasonably low-priced French-inspired restaurant. The menu is not static; it apparently changes from time to time. Based on the meals we enjoyed, the chef(s) use ingredients imaginatively. Diners can order steak (the most expensive item on the menu is a large steak), but why... More

Super Duper service. Great food at mid range pricing. They were kind enough to call the brewery to find out if the beer I requested contained an allergen. Would highly recommend. Come early and line up outside while waiting for restaurant to open….otherwise you may be waiting a VERY long time.

We arrived early to make sure we could get in. Half an hour before opening we were second in line. That doesn't mean you're the second served. The mussels were great but not an appetizer size. They were delicious. The onion soup is great. We ordered the steak done two ways. The first was a braise beef which was tender... More

We had heard about Brasserie L'ecole and were intrigued by their NO RESERVATIONS policy. The first time we stood in line for about 20 minutes to be told we could get in at around 7.30pm. (It was a Saturday night) The second time we were first in line at about 5pm and waited for about 1/2 hour in line. Boy,... More
